Prompt improvements
Hey, thank you for the Ollama support, I'm using your mod as an experiment to see what Mistral can do, and it works fine. But I've spotted a few things with the prompt formatting:

  • There are still some spanish parts. "Importante: responde en english, a menos que se haya indicado otro idioma con anterioridad", "(💛 pasión menor)". I think that mixing up languages may confuse the language. Ideally, everything should be in the same language, the one of the game in order to make context informations usable directly. You may need to localize the prompt. I think we can assume that players would talk to their pawns in the game's language.
  • Skills numeric value don't tell the model if this is high, since there is no scale in the context. Maybe the short level description would be better (eg. "Solid professional")
  • Context and user prompts are interleaved. I assume having the user prompt at the very end would be more stable and yield better results. As an example, an adult responded to me "Ba-ba" or "My dear child"...
  • Something in the prompt should allow the player to rectify informations. Ideally the GUI may expose a button to say what is incorrect, but having just some kind of markup built-in would be enough. I had to fight with my colonist that was thinking it was making clothes while it was actually crafting a rifle.
  • When crafting, giiving the name of the recipe being crafted would help (see above)

I'm having plenty of fun with it. Keep on the good work :)

You're absolutely right. As a native Spanish speaker, I initially made the mod as comfortable as possible for myself. Once I was satisfied with how it worked, I translated everything into English to upload it to Steam. I missed a few things, but I've corrected them now. I also went back and gave the final prompt another review. In my tests, it has worked well when talking to adults, children, and toddlers. But as with any AI, there's always room for improvement. I've uploaded another version with a slightly more polished prompt — I hope it works better now. Thank you so much for your suggestions!

Very reactive :) I'll try that out ! I hope you don't feel pressured with my feedbacks: I work daily on LLMs for way too few really funny or useful cases, but this one is really nice and I honestly love the idea. It can by itself bring a full new depth to the game, so if you allow me, I'd like to give you all help or suggestions you would need to make a great mod.
