Q.1 What will the mod entail, say Map wise.
Q.2 What will the research look like, (Say like will it have custom icons and such?)
Q.3 How large will this mod actually be, (Say do you want to encompass the scope of the game).

Either ways, I'd love to see this mod complete, since its quite unique.

So 1. Mod is going to have every faction from TV Series later it will have fictional ones and also there will be option to recreate states.

2. Research would be aimed on equipment not on divisions or something like that (because the Manpower is going to be low)

3. And the final thing. I can't say how big it is going to be. Because i dont even know if i will complete this. It depends if i will get some developers that will help. If yes i expect that this mode is going to be masive! (Like Millenium Dawn)
Will the French faction in Daryl Dixon be playable at some point?
Will this feature TellTale's Walking Dead characters?

Yes it is. But because i'm solo creator (for now) and also this mod is my free-time activity, and i'm not creative type of guys. I use AI whenever it can help me to get best results. Believe me, right after i get somebody to create thumbnail i promise you it will change.

here's a idea for equipment. take the scavenging system from OWB, and change some of the events to focus more or scavenging various gear from nearby locations with various degrees of risk/rewards. have the amount of factories per state low, and put in the limit to only 5 factories for any one equipment to simulate a post apocalypse industry.

there is alot of land and people lost to the walkers, you cant expect 25 factories worth of people and equipment to just be lying around, it doesnt make sense. maybe have 3 levels of weapons, with various stat upgrades here and there for future research.

LV1-Survival grade equipment. things cobbled together by whatever a survivor might have in there household, from a kitchen knife tapped to end of a broom, to a makeshift Bow and arrow made from wood and fiber made in the woods. low stats, but cheap to make.

LV2-Civilian grade equipment. Common weaponry one would expect the common person would be able to acquire from hardware stores and gun shops, as well as what some police departments would possibly carry. medium stats, bit more expensive.

LV3-Military grade equipment. Military grade hardware, like high power assault rifles, machine guns, and proper explosive weaponry. the only grade of equipment that cant be researched unless pre-requisite research is granted, ether thru access to military sites, events, or focuses, or granted to military remnants. can only be gathered otherwise by scavenging groups in the scavenging menu.

Apply the same with armor with the same kind of system, with maybe some groups getting unique tech that gives them unique armor from the show, like full plate armor, or that one group from the tell tale games that disguises themselves as walkers to move around.

ive got more ideas if you want me to throw some more your way.
