STAR WARS™ Empire at War: Gold Pack

Awakening of the Clone Wars
Munificent Frigate
I was wondering if there was a reason behind reducing the munificent's armament and turning it into an artillery ship? Was it balancing? Maybe as a way to fill a roll in the CIS roster?

It is almost the same as the muni in AOTR

it doesnt have less weapons, its just that less of them are hardpoints that can be targetted. Its a big thing with that mods, most ships have plenty of weapons that cant be singled out and destroyed, though their main artillery typically is
I'm more referring to it's cannon armament, yes it had the long range weapons but it had much more light turbos on the underside of the armored hull section
In the description tool tip, all weapons Inside the Brackets are non-target-able weapons and will continue firing until the ship dies completely. so yes the light turbo lasers on the underside are there you just can't blow them off the ship.

Problem is that in other mods the munificent, although similar weapons, will close in to a distance where most of its weapons can be used. I.e. your ships can usually target them even if staying put.

Not sure why but in this mod it stays at max range for its LR weapons and will snipe you to death unless you can snipe them back using cmd venators or bombers/strikecraft. IN that scenario they are stil a bit OP as some of their LR weapons have no hardpoints.

I always take too many losses if advancing to reach them as that will let their strong brawlers infiltrate my battle line and in any case they will spawn new munis so need to keep afdvancing then, leaving enemies in your back (they will also spawn in the back which is a crazy design decision in this mod IMHO).

So in the end, that leaves only the boring option to spam cmd venators to counter them and when they start taking damage and their bombers/fighters are spent it is best to withdraw and repeat until you get bored chipping away at the same fleet and you will. Go and play with a diverse fleet and watch it crumble is another option.
