Impressions and some small tweaks
I am coming from the EAWX mods and this is a good change of pace for me! I am enjoying how many heroes there are and the units. I do however hope some submods/features are added over that would make the experience even more fun.

1. Planetary Shields: add another upgrade to the shields that stop all incoming bombings raids and orbital bombardments. EAWX has it and it makes the defensive ground battles more interesting with prepared defense positions. Enemy would be able to destroy the planetary shield which would then reactivate bombing raids and orbital bombardments.

2. a submod that stops torpedoes from going through shields would be good for those of us who maybe can't always micro every unit. Being able to hit shield generators while the shield is up with bombers feels a little cheap. Having specific bombers with shield piercing munitions might be a fun wrinkle in things too!

3. a sub mod that boosts planetary incomes so those of us who are looking to just build fleets and armies can have some fun. With the economy as it is right now its hard to get those truly epic battles because everything is expensive. a boosted economy submod would just make things a bit more fun for those of us who are casuals.

4. Missions I think need a look at because there will be missions that I physically cannot do because of play style (which for me is defensive) or it'll give me missions that I would have to conquer a whole line of planets to do. Maybe something like 3 or 4 low grade missions (low rewards but happen within friendly territory) and like 1 high grade mission (like conquer X planet) would help those of us who aren't constantly going on the offensive handle things like war fatigue. It would open up more play styles and be more of a "oooo what missions do I have" vs for me right now which is "oh ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great another mission can't wait to not be able to do that one."

5. This is for fun but a way to recruit like...all the heroes. Just all of em. I wanna use everyone in different spots and RP a little bit (like having Kit Fisto on Mon Cala or Shaak Tii on Kamino). isn't a dire need, just a pipe dream.

hope this is helpful! I've tried the AOTR stuff in the past but it just didn't line up with my play style all that much and, like Cyndi Lauper, I just wanna have fun as a casual.

Hi. I'm glad you're enjoying the mod. As you've identified, these changes would work best as submods. We will not be making any of them ourselves, but anyone else is welcome to do so.

1 is pretty much already in game, this is how shutter shields work
2 would completely break space balance and our tactical combat so there is no way we would ever do that.
3 might be a good submod for casual players (who the mod is not built for).
4 I disagree with - playstyle is a choice, missions encouraging you to deviate from your intended path is sort of the point of them. Defensive play is also just not the way to succeed in this game.
5 is also good submod material (and one is in being built by a community member).

Howdy! Appreciate the feedback! I must've misread how shutter shields worked while playing my bad!). noted on the balancing in space! that I can adjust to. I appreciate some of the love on the 3rd economy one, it definitely applies to both ACW and AOTR (especially AOTR as there are not many active/balanced/stable GCW mods out there) and with the Clone Wars having large fleets and armies is half the fun of the era (at least to me). Noted on 4, a little frustrating because I don't like being told by a strategy game how I should be playing, but I also get that the mod is built for more offense so I get it. I'm happy to hear 5 is in development! I just wanna use all the heroes for a fun time.

I'd just say that on 4, this isn't us trying to force a set strategy or telling you how to play, this is just me letting you know that the way the base game is built rewards aggression, and no mod has ever been able to change that.

Is there going to be a Probe or some Type of scout unit (Like the Long Probe Y-Wings) for the Republic?

So far so good, though there are few nitpicks

SBD's walk cycle animation seem to cut off a bit at the end, creating this jarring cut to the start of it. Its otherwise flawless, like with BX's. And speaking of BX - while it looks great how they put away their blaster when running, its a bit strange to see it shoot as they move. Land TriDroids definetely need a bit more work there, but more critically - while big TriDroid being awkward to turn might make sense, smaller one just like DSD-1 can be annoying to get into position sometimes if they get flanked.

Another nitpick - i wish there was Battlefront styled space chatter during fleet balltles like some moods does that, and in generals, i hope there would be or at least someone will make a submod that changes B1's voices to their more grim sounding Rep.Com or Battlefront counterparts, i really dont like that a ubiquitous CIS droid is a comical relief.

Also i am wondering if more voice-over work is being made so that ships can be more easily distinguished between one another. I remember those RaW ones a bit too well now.

For the last part - some neutral structures and planet descriptions might need a bit of editing since the Empire at that era was merely an idea in Palpatine's mind for now. And let us build limited amount of umbaran ground units. Otherwise fantastic mod, just need more polish. That system with events takes the cake and hope it gets ported to AotR.

I'd also love to see some optional changes to missions. They are kinda distracting at times

@[DCIV]JackKiller2266, there already are Republic scout units.
@Ferrius, I'm sure you'll understand that most of this kind of polish is nice to have but low priority for us right now - still some bugs to fix first. Talking of which, if you see any text mentioning the empire please do make a bug report so we can find and fix it. We've got no plans to make Umbaran ground units buildable (they only fought on Umbara after all) but we do intend to backport lots of features to AotR including events.
