I agree I complained wayy earlier in development about the UI texture.

I can confirm this. One of their discord mods was telling me about this a couple months ago.

Just played as the Soviets, it takes a lot of tries but regardless there was some cheesing involved

Definitely, there are so many different references to really niche events that make me wonder if they even matter at all.

Honestly, they just tried to add too many random features and new unit types and fit into such a small amount of time, have to play at one speed to even know whats going on.

imo there's not *that* many random features, this really feels like the kaiserredux to millennium dawn for me. What units make you feel overwhelmed? I just rolled with tank/SPG/IFV/APC divisions as china and it works fine

Playing as Brazil this is basically Novum Vexillum (Millenium Dawn on easy mode). The tech trees are all basically the same as vanilla Hoi4 and the only additions are things like nuclear subs, helicopters, and nuclear powerplants. If you have played vanilla hoi4 you will understand minors in this mod. After I finish my game I'll try saudi arabia and then the US.

I will say when the mod developer says there is no content for outside countries, they mean no basic focus tree, no decisions, nothing. So it will be hard to even build a military.

Don't try Brazil, there is no way to earn military xp to make a template (Brazil has no starting templates) instead try Columbia or Venezuela when learning.

why would you play as brazil you absolute idiot it's not meant to be played since it doesnt have content. Youre probably brazilian yourself, room temp iq

I have tried a couple times playing as Japan, France and the USA but there a too many type of techs, different issues such as economical crisis, Covid, Saudi civil war. It is just too much at once and I get demolished by the AI due to the overwhelming new mechanics, division types and such.

I really want to like this mod but it is just as much of a pain to learn as other mods such as TNO. I understand however that others will enjoy this mod for that reason. I do hope maybe some guides/tips will be released in the near future.

MFW The Total Overhaul mod does a Total Overhaul of the system

It is aggressively mediocre. Potential squandered due to lack of direction and a clear voice. Is this an intense look at the collapse of American hegemony and its ramifications or an edgelord meme fest? The mod doesn't know. Serious factions sit next to eye-rolling giggle factions and both are treated with the same level of seriousness. Poor UI and an avalanche of stuff being thrown at you doesn't make the game hard- the mod is no harder than a lot of other similar mods- but it does make playing it remarkably tedious.

There is some potential here, but it is incoherent at the moment. As it is, it feels like the mod will have a burst of popularity due to its striking premise and controversial decisions but will likely fade away unless it can solidify an identity.

Last time I played hoi 4 was when Kaiseredux was new and called Kaiserreich, yet I still won both Euro invasions as Putin/Medvedev. That's 3 army groups, 2-3 fronts, dosens of air wings and some navy. Now granted I did that while essentially missing half the game playing with zero dlc's, but still, use pause.
