Feedback on campaigns
Please post here your experiences on all of your different campaigns. Specify the difficulty you have set and whether you have any other mods activated.

For balance purposes if possible make a video of the particular situation you are experiencing. Something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbQMNgfDijM
For replays to work in the mod you must not move any units in the deployment phase, just start battle immediately.

I've played as all of the New Kingdom Factions (Visigoths, Suebi, Cordova) and I can go 100 turns without more than a single faction ever declaring war on me, maybe 2 at times. And if one does, they might field a single stack, it gets wiped, then they refuse to ever send another full stack at me again.

It just seems everyone is stricken with 'war weariness' indefinitely.

I am playing on Very Hard, with no other mods activated other than better camera mod.

What I 've noticed so far in battles. Roman Heavy spear units after they clashes with enemy the switch spear to sword in melee but they lacking sword animation just stabbing.

I have played all New Kingdom factions, Armenia, Avars, Gok Turk, Hephthalites,Gepides and Romania.

Only the "No technology lost" mod enable for Roman factions. Difficulty: Legendary.

A few things to be noted:

1. The overhauled changes of the Armenian factions look good, the halberdiers and horsemen are really powerful.

2. The Hephthalites cannot raze the city, making it hard for campaign, as you have no safe rear area for the horde to develope.

3. Some cavalry units still have the size of 75, not 90, including the mercenary Avars and cavalry unit of some factions in Britain.

Overall the changes are quite good~

The further into campaign you get the more crashes to desktop. 121 turns in as the Suevi and all saves are corrupted. I've had this happen on other playthroughs as well

@OmohabiPL thats a comprmise we had to make when we imported the new animations for the roman spear units

@Watson thanks for the feedback, the white huns are unable to raze cities due to their culture changes but let me check. As for the small size of cavalry units that should only apply to some factions that were not horse oriented such as the saxons and nordic factions. The mercenary avars small size is a bug though

@ChadiusMaximus94 strange, I have played campaigns well into the 170s turns and no crash, can you name the factions that are experiencing this problem. In the meantime always have at least two save 2 or 3 turns apart just in case

i am almost 200 turns in as ERE and was curious was the Lombard invasion turned off a few versions back? or is it dependent on DLC to be activated? also no crashes i play with quite a few mods on top and everything is smooth, im gonna hate to lose this campaign when this gets updated.

also have 170 turns into a sassiand campaign everything is great so far!

Nice to see new update but still ,issue with Cyning unit for Angles and Saxones remains. No upgrade in grand campaign.
Juanplay  [developer] Nov 4, 2024 @ 2:03pm
@^0MohabiPL it does not appear in the UI but the elite military class technology replaces the thegn with the cyning

@Mingles thanks for your feedback, the lombard invasion was changed so that it only creates enemy armies, glad you are enjoying the campaigns

I've started my first campaign playing Frisia, and from the onset decided to migrate. I've made my way down to Italy, where I've discovered some razed settlements. I was hoping to settle in one of them, but it seems impossible. Right-clicking brings up "Settlement Occupied - Do nothing". And nothing happens... any help on this ?

Hello, I've played the Wenden, Romanoi, Eranshahr, Regnum Suevorum and Aksum campaign. (Edit VH/VH)

Only one serious bug so far, in the Aksum campaign, after a while, you lose the ability to recruit new generals or replace the ones you have in armies. There were no other mods active during this campaign. Reinstalling Attila seems to have fixed it.

For the campaigns, most of them were challenging, but fun (and all of them were fun).

The easiest campaign was that of the Regnum Suevorum, mainly because your biggest threat, the Visigoths, are busy with the Romans. Once you capture their capital, you not only cripple them, but get access to high tier units because it is a tier 3 settlement. The roster was versitale, and the units were able to take what my opponents dished out. The starting position was ideal, with a rich, easy to defend province.

The Eranshahr campaign was slightly harder, but still quite easy. Main problem is the hepthalites and other steppe "tourists" in combination with the Roman frontier. All this can be done without much effort, but it is harder to land a "killing" blow here, as the steppe people can just outrun you and the Roman empire is, well, quite big. The Sassanians have a varied and very fun roster though, and are able to take whatever an opponent throws at them.

The Romanoi were the most fun, but I played them with a mod to limit corruption. I guess it is doable without this, but I wanted to avoid a grindingly slow campaign. The Roman unit roster is very large, but without feeling cluttered. The regional units are a very cool concept. Definetly very nice looking models.

The Wenden were surprisingly quite challenging, though I think this is because I rushed the coastal provinces on the Baltic, leaving me in a two front war with the Geats and Saxonia, who threw army after army at me. Wenden roster is quite up to the challenge though, even if the lack of volley archers hurts.

Aksum was the last one I played. The campaign was challenging, especially later, when facing the late game Sassanian roster. I did get the feeling that Aksum's roster was a bit bare. The main settlement infantry barracks only gives you desert archers and kushite shotelai. Shotelai I found a bit disappointing for a unit that requires a tier four barracks (with the tier two and three barracks giving no additional unit types to recruit). Feels like they are better of at tier three. Same story with the cavalry barracks, though that one does grant war elephants if built in Ethiopia. The spice port units are decent but lack holding power. On the whole, it feels like they miss a unit to anchor your battle line.

Some units, have no tech or biulding in campaign for recruitment ,although they are in custom battles queue for specific faction. Example Milities Gothi for Lombards.
