The new weapons are great! The rifle is unique, but definitely the least powerful ranged weapon. Cannon is amazing! It can damage through walls, and basically ANY speed or damage mod makes it OP. I think both of the new melee weapons are each better than the sword. The spear has an even better charge multiplier and the daggers speed and auto attack is great.

Here's some more of my favorite builds, this time with some modded weapons:

Geomancer
Staff of Earth (from basegame) + 9999 Mana Potions + Mana Flower
Fun, simple build. Its damage can have trouble scaling but with the right items you'll demolish anything in your path. Fun alternative to the simple Adaptive Gun build.

Shadow Summoner
Shadow Orb Staff (from Thorium)
That's right, no extra max Mana or mana regeneration. This playstyle demands that you be very calculative and slow with how you approach encounters. Can absolutely demolish certain bosses and works well with lots of "on hit" effects, and makes normal encounters VERY interesting with how you approach them. Probably one of my favorites!

Reaper
Kineto-scythe (from Thorium Mod)
This one's just pretty fun to play around with, all things considered. It's a rather basic weapon that lets you do some neat things.

Ice Warrior
Cool Knives (from Expanded Terraria?)
Pretty simple build focused on shotgunning enemies with the knives. Can easily become overpowered with the right combos, but it's overall fun to play around with, and if you find it too easy, try other ways to increase the difficulty!

Outlaw
Rifle Spear (from Thorium Mod) + Avenger Emblem + Warrior Emblem
Pretty fun melee-oriented build that can also shotgun enemies on occasion. Might seem underpowered at first, but can deal VERY competent burst damage.

haven't gotten all too far in any of my runs, but they play out decently well- you can deal good damage with the lance even without dashing

I thought the pulse bow was going to be uber broken due to its piercing and bouncing, but it's surprisingly fun and balanced.

The Katana Zero Weapons mod adds some cool ones, I found that the Prism Sword works VERY well in TerRoguelike without any further modification- deflecting enemy bullets is VERY fun and it plays well with a lot of the mod's enemies.

there is also a mod called dragonslens (or dragonlens idr) and it has the item spawning feature but it also lets you change the stats of items so you could balance weapons for terrougelike

I just did an Adaptive Spear only run with a Pygmy Staff. Turns out the Ammo Shell and Shotgun Kit work on melee weapons too! I was doing 8 attacks with each attack

Piranha Gun only run was fun! I think it's great for new players so they can focus on dodging attacks while the piranhas chomp away.

You can also use the DragonLens mod to change the stats of weapons if they're too weak/strong

Oh, deflecting bullets does sound like it would fit the mod really well, honestly surprised it's not already a thing (perhaps a red item making melee attacks deflect bullets or something) and surprised I haven't thought of it before.

A little late, but any weapon attained post mech SHOULD be about the same DPS as the weapons from Terroguelike...... saying that, if you use WIK's Weapon Scaling, which essentially adds a fromsoft style weapon level up system to most vanilla weapons, you could grab any weapon from cheat sheet, and then upgrade/degrade it to Hallowed so that they may match up with the gear from the mod. It is worth noting that some perks don't affect non Terroguelike items. With third party mod support, WIK's weapon scaling can also affect weapons from the Cerebral mod, Thorium mod and Calamity mod.
