FAQ
Time for some frequently asked questions about the mod, as well as some questions I predict will be asked quite frequently.

"Is this mod compatible with XYZ mod?"
Currently, the only strict incompatibilities this mod has are with the mods "Lua for M:PN" and "Enhanced Arena Experience", due to all three changing the Assembly-CSharp file.

"Why is the button to summon Hirelings from Bossman not working?"
This is a new question and the most common culprit for it I've found is the same bug that makes Quartermaster Bert and Chef Pava sometimes refuse to sell you things - this happens when you update your mod configuration without reloading the game. To fix this, just close & reopen the game.

"The Corpus icons for the enemy-based Hirelings are all the same. Will this be fixed?"
This will be fixed in due course. As of currently, I am likely to have the corpus blocks all use unique colours for Part 2 of the Hireling Update, but I will see if I can get someone to help me with the custom icons for them. As a sidenote, if anyone would like to help out with this, feel free to message me (@wingidon) on Discord.

"Why does XYZ Hireling have XYZ stat // Why did you do XYZ Hireling this way?"
Because it's the way I felt would best fit. Feel free to give me feedback on what you think would fit better and I may take it into account and update it, but it's difficult (if not impossible) to please everyone.

"My game is crashing on startup with your Assembly-CSharp."
This is usually due to the fact that a basegame update has released and I have not yet updated the Assembly-CSharp file. Just be patient, I try to have it updated within 24h of the update's release.

"My browser is flagging the Assembly-CSharp.dll file."
This is unfortunately something that happens, many browsers simply just don't trust the .dll file type. Most browsers will have some kind of "Download Anyway" function. I assure you, the file is completely safe - the others who have the mod downloaded can testify to that.

"How can I add optional addons to the mod?"
Subscribe to them on the Workshop and enable them in-game. You will not need to manually download an update for each optional addon every time a new game update comes out - they will update automatically and will be compatible as soon as I release the new version.

"How can I make my own addons?"
I will create a tutorial for this shortly after the release of Part 2 of the Hireling Update.

"Where can I find a list of optional addons that're available for the mod?"
Bottom of the mod's description. I'll be updating that with links to any optional addons that I know of, as well as a brief description of what they add.

"Why aren't you responding to comments?"
It's much easier to respond to inquiries in Discussions, which are designed to have responses to individual comments. It's clunky to do it in the main comment section.

"If I download modded origins, will they appear on Hirelings?"
No - however, the people who make the modded origins have the option to create an addon that does allow this to happen.

"Is the Origins Revamped mod a hard-requirement?"
Yes, the Mercenary Hireling reads from a character file that's in that mod and not in the base game. I'm unsure how the game will go about working with a missing dependency, but you're welcome to test it at your convenience if you wish to.

"I have an idea or suggestion for the mod. Where can I tell you about it?"
Just about anywhere where I can see it. If you just want to suggest it and leave it there, you can put it in a comment on the main mod page. If you want to know my thoughts & feedback on the suggestion (and how likely I am to add it), feel free to open a discussion. If you want the best odds of me responding and having a conversation with you about your idea, head to the #firing-range & ping me there, or find the Wingidon's Workshop thread in the #flea-market, both on the M:PN Discord.

"How can I uninstall this mod?"
Right-click your game in your Steam library, click on Properties, head to the Installed Files tab and click the Verify Integrity of Game Files button.
