Empyrion - Galactic Survival

Empyrion - Galactic Survival

Reforged Eden 2 Beta
An internal error has occured...
A day or two ago I started getting those internal errors where you can continue, mail or quit every time I launch the save, exit to menu or change playfield. It will occasionally occur with other activities like a POI rendering or using the scope, but not as frequently.

The consol states the following: <System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteException: database disk image is malformed database disk image is malformed>

This is a single player game, standard RE2 build, and does not happen in a vanilla game. I have verified the game files and unsubscribed and resubscribed the RE2 scenario with no change. The only thing I can think of outside "normal" game play is I used the destroy <ID> to remove some decorative core-less POIs like the [Zirax] Mining equipement - I was taking over a planet and didn't want any remaining Zirax tagged POIs presnt, and without a core, you can't "kill" it.

Has anyone ran into this issue before; is there a fix or has my save corrupted? Did <destroy>ing those structures have anything to do with it?

One thing you could try, as this might be due to some data corruption on the drive itself (at least worth a try) is to open a command prompt in windows (right click on the windows start menu, select "run". When the prompt comes up type cmd then press control + shift + enter to open the command prompt in admin mode.) Once in command prompt window, at the command line type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes. This will run a diagnostic on your hard drives and repair any malformed data on the drive. When it's done it will report it's findings and fixes if any. Then try the game again.

I've found that I have to do this sometimes, especially when my "harddrive" is an ssd type.

It was a good thunk and it did find and fix some corrupted files, but unfortunately not whatever is causing the internal errors. I'm going to delete the save and start over, see if things clear up or continue on a fresh start.

Did you try verifying files in steam.

yup, and I uninstalled and reinstalled the RE2 scenario after that to be sure. So far the new save appears to be working without issue, so I'm leaning towards a corrupted save; whether that was due to bad luck or the removal of some of the 'ambience' POIs with the destroy command; not sure how a core-less POI is assigned to a faction maybe removing them from a playfield breaks something?
