Radiation fog killing crops in my base
I have my base completely enclosed and ventilated (I checked with the N oxygen mode) but radiation fog is still killing crops in my base on Akua. Do reinforced windows perhaps not protect against radiation ?

Theres a function in the N menu on the second tab you can use to check airtight or not. I know some of the doors are not airtight like the glass doors. Perhaps its that?
As stated, use the N menu to make sure everything is fully sealed. Likely there is just something you overlooked.

There have been various bugs over the years though that lead to this issue so if you are 100% sure your base is air tight, ventilators placed, oxygen tanks full and oxygen is on, then you might want to look at making a bug report.

Sorry, i should have mentioned that i did do that to ensure the base was airtight. It's not showing anything on the N debug oxygen mode.
Do you have power? The two things you need are airtight and power. You do not need ventilators or oxygen,
I'm going to assume you have power because you must have Grow Lights. Is the power ever going out at any time, though? Like you run out of fuel or energy in your Capacitors.

No base never runs out of power. It doesn't even use any energy unless the constructors are running, thanks to windmills and solar. But the fuel tanks stay at 100 anyways, so I'm certain its not power.

I think it musy be something with the 2by2 glass windows nearby.

Using the N debug check the O2 box instead of the airtight you should see blocks with O2 written on them all around you if you do there are no leaks guaranteed.

Yeah i did that. there are no leaks.
what kind of door do u have on the building?
You might also plant something new and see what is the status (not growing due to lack of …). That might reveal something systemic (eg no oxygen / vents in your sealed room or grow lights too far away or off). If it was transitory (like radiation cloud) remember the ground is not airtight. And I’ll add if nearby equipment is generating a lot of heat that will kill crops too (eg next to engines on a ship but I think it has to be right next to it). If it helps, my space station is mostly glass, including 2x2 and my crops are still growing.

If you planted a pentaxid seed that will kill other crops, not sure if radiation from a generator will, stand in your grow blocks and see if you register radiation.
Heres a long shot - any chance youre growing pentaxid with other crops? That does give off radiation and might be killing them if you are

lol i saw this right after I posted the same thing :D
If you build on a O2 planet or in space and want to know if your base is airtight without turning on the oxygen. Just look at the temp when the power is on. If its the same as out side then you have a leak. If its 71 F (22 C) then your airtight. No need to add ventilators and O2 to find out.

I remember having rad issues years ago with my plants when fog rolled in but the base was airtight. It was some kind of glitch, and had to move my garden to a different spot in the base.

Akua is a breathable planet; does N - show O2 work if your in a naturally oxygenated environment?

The other thing to look for are things like fuel tanks, generators or other blocks that give off heat or radiation less than a full block (in a cube around it) from the growplot or plant. Walk around your garden and watch for spikes in radiation or temperature. Under a grow light it should be a constant 25 C and 0 rads if air tight.
