Are they forge only? The don't show in my universal constructor. Haven't built a forge yet as I don't have a base.

Yes. If you mouse over ore, it should identify if they require a furnace specifically to process. From memory, Platinum, Palladium and Magmacite all require furnaces, with Tungsten being the only 'speciality' ore that can still be processed in a constructor.
