Empyrion - Galactic Survival

Reforged Eden 2 Beta
Space fighting?
Hello to every Terran survivor!

I would like to ask you guys if you have any good advice how do you DISABLE enemy ships?
You know in empyrion there is no chance to hijack ships like in Space Engineers (which i really like!)
So usually i play as a fast ifiltrator who sneaks into places grabs the loot and runs. Sometimes i play as a strategic precise general and plan all my moves develop my ships and research game mechanics.

I have the game since 2015 so i am not a newbie in Empyrion.

There is one thing which bothers me since the old times... How the hell do you disable the ships?
I mean i want every piece of the enemy equipment i can have my hands on, sooooo devastating the ships are not my thing really.

Is there a way to preserve those shiny, rotating, full of resources blocks somehow?? Most of the time i like salvaging, this is why i am asking. And you know i don't like these dirty tricks to bug the game's AI to not move at all.

Ofc my dream is to pop my core into the enemy ship and hijack it for the good, but this game does that really awfully by deleting every fun... (At this point i have never understood the developers why this (SPACE)game does space combat so *****tty) Lets hope this topic will be a subject to change in the next century.

So sometimes i notice that half of my projectiles are missing the target because of the stuttering movement... But i wonder... Is there a good way to disable enemy ships for salvage?

Sometimes i can't even enter the disabled ships because there is a hidden barrier of something which prevents me to do that.

(I thought i will ask you because maybe there is something which i missing really and since RFE2 is developing (like i didn't know that CVs can dock to eachother know)

So any advice is appreciated and sorry for the long post.

Ps.: I really like the scenario, its just really brutally punishing...

One thing I have heard people do is they look at the enemy ship in Creative and find where the Core is. Then they target the Core with their fixed weapons and try to destroy it. I could never do this. I'm not that good of a shot. :)

Thanks for the advice, hehe usually i try to hit the core myself too, but secondary explosions wipe out the better systems which is really sad considering we have onboard deconstructors... :)

Check the pda, it explains how to disable patrol vessels under the combat section.

If you run into the issue with invisible barriers, that is a bug somehow related to the thrusters. If the ship is cored, you can try going into the P-menu and turning the thrusters off. If that doesn't work or the ship is not cored, there is little else to do but fly around and remove all the thrusters either by salvage or destruction. While I cant say I've experienced that bug recently just by destroying their forward engines, this game really does like to resurrect old bugs.

Thank you for your advice! Will check the pda and try out the hint with the thrusters!
