New version wish list and current ideas
This is the next version so far in my mind...

3 channels to start
configurable channel numbers for the first three in the sandbox
first 2 will remain terminal a and terminal b in the station
the 3rd will be a global list based channel that is not changeable

Then there will be pirate stations
basically get a radio, a tower, a computer, and a terminal to put them altogether and broadcast
You set the channel
You add the music
Maybe a voip integration so that someone can "dj" from the radio terminal

All stations will run constantly in the background for everyone even on MP but will be muted until the player is in range of one or more radios tuned in to that station. So when you turn off the radio and turn it back on later, no idea what song will not be playing and it may be part way through a song, more like real life.

Adding radio text like the weather station does now with random news and weather reports between songs

Adding commercials to play between songs

Have this all work in a radio that is not in your hand if you wish.

And set it up so it does not interfere with other stations of course.

Long range goals...
On horde night, the radio sends out emergency broadcast alerts
Have this also happen with horde are detected in your local area heading your way
"I want my TMTV!" True Music Television, works like the 3rd station but has sprite overlays on the TV so you get simulated generic music videos...

any requests or ideas to add to this?

Commercials and radio station bumpers are the biggest things I'm looking forward to!

I'm actually compiling a batch of commercials and random channel call signs from ages past to drop a TM mod of them. They are not meant to drop cassettes or vinyl but to have in order to incorporate into the mix of music if the player or server subscribe to them.

any chance of getting something akin to the "Pirate stations" by taking over the radio station in louisville and fixing it up to operate akin to the main station? (Maybe it could just be a way to access the station stuff from an alternative location?)

the current version is location specific. if i can find the louisville one, i can probably set it there as an additional or alternative location.

If you need help finding the station:
It's in cell 41x5 at the bottom right of the cell.
it's on the corner of a crossroads and is across the street west of the Romero Center For The Performing Arts (a big reddish brown building with a tan front)

There's a bunch of stuff on the second floor you could use.
It is in the same cell as the huge police station.

I found it last night 93.2FM right? Must have an off site antenna.

Yeah that's the one, I'm not sure if the satellite dishes help at all with that? Could be a way to communicate with the radio tower out near Riverside? There's even vanilla access to them.

Having the following options would be cool:

- Forbid Project Zomboid's vanilla music AND TCCacheMP specifically from spawning in terminals. (For those who have their own music and find the unneccessary tracks intrusive, Like, I have over 100 songs and the game still chooses to play the unwanted crap on repeat... seriously... )

- About the commercials, I hope there will also be a way to disable them, if one desires to strictly have just music.

I think the only way to exclude those without the manual playlist would be to create an exclusion list.

If I do the commercials they will be a separate mod that can be added that will not create media naturally.

would it be possible to make this work on a custom map by allowing admins to set the radio station set up anywhere instead of just the Riverside location?

That is a good idea, how about I add a setting on the terminals so that an admin can create a terminal and tag it with mod data as the terminal for a station. Then the admin can spawn one in or find one and flip the switch to activate it on the map.
It would be nice if there was a (Sandbox?) option to make it so Christmas songs only play on global radios in December. Obviously can't be made foolproof, but you could blacklists songs with keywords like "Christmas", "Santa", "Navidad"

I would like to start by getting the theme songs off, then maybe a radio station linked to a particular music mod, so you can have a mod connected to certain stations. Then blacklist or whitelist for each channel. For now the only way is to modify the station with your list and leave out the disliked tracks.

So in the server I run we found out if you hold a walkie and talk on the same freq as the radio station you can essentially be a live DJ, would it be possible to have a option to either pause or stop the music, to allow a person to talk, then start it back up. I know with true music juke box they have something that allows the pausing of music, or shuffling tracks, ect. This would allow us to have more control over the DJ aspect in game.

I know that songs don't sync up right with other players so I don't even know if this would be possible.
