is state's population planned to stay as ridiculously huge or not?
if not, then how much would it be? kenshi's usual town pop is like 70 and villages around towns are like 30-46, which doesnt really fit hoi4.

And besides that, will war be normal frontline-ish or will it be handled trough border conflcits to simulate eu4-alike battles that would probably be more or a little bit less but still more fitting for kenshi

Not everything was designed with accuracy in mind. I assume it would break the game to have states with populations in the hundreds, and divisions made up of only dozens of soldiers.

I also think it's more fun to imagine the world of Kenshi as being much bigger than what it is portrayed to be.

yeah but "much bigger" should be atleast reasonable, like 10k in capital regions and like 1-3 in normal, meanwhile 93k per region in post apoc is just absurd

You could follow OWB example to scale down the conflicts a bit, with divisions taking like 500/1k Manpower at most

Using Old world blues model makes sense, Kenshi is based on a similar scenario after all of a post apocalypse. I think to be accurate to the game it should be even lower than Old world blues though if that's at all possible. It doesn't have to be 100% accurate, but what makes old world blue fun is the immersion, the reduced manpower pool is part of that.
