Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

The Old Realms - Core (Season of Doom)
Can`t convert troops into companions
Hello there! I started playing this one after watching a YouTube stream, and that guy has an option to turn a soldier into a companion, and he told me that it's not a 3rd party mod, but a feature of this mod
But I don't have that button in the soldiers menu in my squad
Can you tell me what could have gone wrong?

Only the mercenary career can do that

Yes, its tied to a perk in the tier 2 or tier 3 list ( not sure which )

Really? It's so bad because I wanted to get a spirit or a chaos horse because I can't find them...(((
just found it - tier 2.

i made a minotaur a companion and he is riding a mule now haha! (spoiler: this makes him unable to move in battle but its funny as hell) next up dressing him in female armor LOL
oh man, once you have a minotaur as a companion, you can take damsel hand armor, the minotaur will have a giant axe held with tiny hands LOL

also you can take the minotaur armor and equip on the player character and cosplay as a minotaur. it makes you huge and you can ride horses still.

The minotaur being able to be turned into a companion was an oversight, enjoy it while it lasts :P

That happens with all companions that are promoted from troops

Bit off the topic and sorry if this is in the FAQs somewhere but are there plans to have more functionality for promoted companions, like Village quests, clan roles and governers?

What do you mean with village quests ? That they can automatically do it without you ?

And remains to be seen if thats possible as troops and companions are set up differently.

i'm also trying to find the use case for converting them aside from beefing up their equipment. they end up taking a valuable governor slot and can't lead parties.
Can also do it with Bretonnia Grail Knights specifically when you unlock a later passive up your skill tree as a Bretonnian Knight - they are very cool companions.
