Cannot cast spells during tournaments and some encounters
I play an Imperial Bright Mage focusing on spells but I cannot cast them during tournaments and some encounters (f.e. the "plague ridden village" one). Is this how it's supposed to be?

So basically pure magic characters shouldn't take quests with encounters like that or do tournaments?

Sure they can, and there's no such thing as "pure", in bannerlord you're always doing a hybrid build, gotta use atleast some form of melee weapon or ranged.
