Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

The Old Realms - Core (Season of Doom)
Burden of dark energy costs is too high
What is it? It slows my party for -3.74 movement speed. But I play as elven mage, not necromancer. Where did I get dark energy?

I suspect it might be something like vampiric/necromantic corruption, because i fight a lot with Sylvania and hanging around their territory. Can it be a bug or game machanic? How to adress it?

Its nothing like corruption, it means you're fielding undead units that require DE upkeep, which you do not have
Just in case someone else is also having the same issue:

I got the same problem while playing as Empire mage. I started getting the same "Burden of dark energy is too high" penalty out of nowhere. Then I found the cause.
Some of the garrisons had vampire units that required dark energy. Once I got rid of them the penalty was gone too.
Hope it helps.

Amazing, so now not only can other cultures/factions not upgrade each others troops, but even holding on to them is deadly poison.
What the hell is your beef with fun?
I get the whole "BUT THE LORE" argument that you guys tout out for basically everything, but there's a point where playability has to trump that in a single player video game and you guys have autistically screeched past that point time and time again.

I really like it that it is difficult to impossible to recruit or maintain soldiers from different cultures. The amount of mixture of troops in normal BL game and mods is annoying, but for TOR it would be mind numbing to have (as player of course the best of) different faction units in an army.

What I do not like that much is the specific mechanic of Prestige, Harmony etc., it makes gameplay quite tedious. As wood elf I never got enough Harmony after a certain early stage because always too many settlements were lost.

As Empire I don't know how to get the huge amounts of Prestige necessary for getting better weapons and cannons (1500 or so?). I never had more than 70 Prestige until clan level 2 at one moment because you need so much for upgrading, and troops die a lot in sieges, without you being able to control it. I cannot imagine what happens if you lose your party entirely in one battle. I assume there are some methods to get Prestige that I did not yet discover, other than praying to Sigmar.

You get prestige from all actions that give you renown, the more renown, the more prestige is earned. And yes that scales with the +50% renown earned perk

But it's a quite tedious and slow process.

One problem is that the tournaments in the Empire are not winnable with low stats in twohanded and onehanded, and good armor, at least for me. Which is generally a very good design, it's nonsense that a newcomer (or mage) can beat melee combat veterans and lords, like in vanilla BL.

I should perhaps go to Athel Loren for renown (did not try it yet wether you can participate as Empire char), never lost a tournament there except the first one.

Athel Loren tournaments can be cheezed.
You can go far back to get more points for the closest targets. It works for me at least. May be I am wrong.

Best tournaments imho are Brettonian. Lance to the face doesn't care about your or enemy stats and armor, it is always oneshot. Horses as reward can be very expensive.

And it gives you tons on XP in riding and polearms to get lvls very fast.

Then you can work as a soldier to a fraction with no wars.
You will get money and skill increase for basically doing nothing. In that time you can go eat or do home routine.
As a merc I get 8000 in a day for doing nothing. It solves any money issues and allows to increase gunpowder skill without struggling with low tier trash weapons.
And it gives me prestige
