Magic Knight/Mercenary?
So has the class system done away with the ability for characters who don't start with magic to learn it? I'm currently running a Bretonnian Knight and wanted to at least get him the basic self heal spell (which is nigh indispensible for all characters I feel) and there's no magic "teachers" in all of Bretonnia, so left to the Empire and talked to a Magister and there was no option to try and unlock magic?

Bretonnian Knights dont use magic.

And there is a magic teacher, the fay enchantress in castle Bastonne.

Ok when you say Bretonnian Knights don't use magic do you mean they don't use it in lore, or in the mod they cannot learn magic period?
What about Mercenaries or Blood Knights?
Before the Knights and Saints update any character you threw together could learn magic from a teacher, so is that no longer the case? Is it now restricted by career or am I just doing something wrong?

Both, they dont use it in the lore, hence they do not use it in the mod as the lore serves as our inspiration.

And yes that is no longer the case, magic and prayers are locked to different careers.

Got it, literally never using any career other then mage from this point on then.
Because roleplaying is about the role, not the playing, and requires zero deviation from that role forever.
That's what makes a setting fun you know? Blindly following what everyone else is already doing.

Ok calmed down a bit and now that I'm less emotional about it, here's the point I want to make.
Warhammer Lore is based on a Wargame. In that 90% of units are completely identical to each other. That is filled by the troop role in Bannerlord.
But it also has hero type units that have something unique and special about them that makes them different.
This is what the Player is (also Lord units) and should thus have more freedom to gain extra "perks"

And if you really want to go all in on lore, I'm pretty sure my Bretonnian Knight could go pick up a gun right now and that would still be viable. I'm no lore junkie but pretty sure you don't see that in the setting.
Hell if my guess is right I don't think there are any Bretonnian Knights who wield BOWS, and I KNOW I could go grab one of those and plink away with zero issue.

So if the Lore is the ONLY important thing, what is gonna be taken from the players arsenal next? Guns? Bows? Wearing armor as a mage class?
You could probably make an argument for any of those based on lore, but NONE OF THAT IS FUN.

If that is how you feel that is fine, however we will make the mod as we see fit. If you have an issue with that then i'm sorry.
