Questions:
- How do I open that one locked gate?
- What were those three 'secret' guys that were differently colored for? Are thhey in any way related to the gate?
- Some of the paths to different areas were blocked off by trees, and I had to go get a quelling blade (which as mentioned is completely broken when everything is a creep). Were those supposed to be blocked off, or was that an accident?
Suggestions:
- Change the gold and xp values on the creeps. Farming the buggers took forever, even once I fond respawning Ancient camps.
- As mentioned, some custom items would be nice.
- Consider setting the courier so that it returns to the shop, rather than your spawn point.
- Maybe try reworking some heroes' abilites. IE, when I tried it out as Legion commander, I quickly realized that her ult was completely useless, because it can only target heroes, and I was the only hero on the map. It doesn't have to be 'works on creeps now,' that would be silly, but I'd like something, maybe along the lines of what it was for Wraith Night.
All in all though, a really good start! Looking forward to watching this develop!
Sry for my english.
-Real Fog of War:
It's a bit dissapointing that you can see the whole map and where all the creep camps are as soon as you start. It'd be a whole lot better if everything remained black until you explored the area.
-Cavern part:
I hate the special cam. You lose information on how much HP the enemies have unless you click on them, and while you're checking the enemies HP you can't see your own HP. The camera also has a shallow FOV while zoomed out but a wide FOV while zoomed in, and it also clips through walls and the ceiling.
Near Radiant's Lake I couldn't make it through the river part to the right as Wraith King. It sure looks like you're supposed to be able to make it through though.
Thank you for your suggestions! And to answer your questions:
- I'm not sure what locked gate you are referring to specifically, however I am going to guess you mean the one near the Dire spawn? That gate is similar to the gate before the Radiant shop, where a creep in front of it must be killed in order to open it. That's about the only "one gate" I can think of.
- The three secret ones are supposed to be bosses that must be killed in order to gain access to Roshan. As of now, I can't get it to require all three to be killed, so only one specific one must be killed (it is stated in the map)
- The areas were intentionally blocked off so that players can't just click there and get there, they have to be creative (in a sense)
Thank you for your feedback about the cave area. As for the fog of war idea, this is something I want to implement, but I do not have the knowledge of how to do so, yet.
That is in fact not the gate i was talking about. That one I figured out on my own, eventually. The one I was really stumped by was on the far left side of the mao. It was on top of a hill, had an Aegis of Champions behind it, and I had to go through that Drakken guy to get through it. Or is that one still supposed to be a secret? ;)
OHHH, *that* one! Yeah, that is not as straightforward! Without spoiling too much, I'll say that you should see an out of place item around that area before the gate. Maybe try walking near that if you're ever in the area again?
I killed all the bosses I think, but all I got was a mini roshan at dire shop :(
There needs to be an insanely hard thing to kill, maybe model it yourself. An ultimate boss.
I wasn't a fan of the cavern part but with some other players I suppose it would mix things up a bit.
Make it clearer as to the items you can buy, I was surprised when I turned my tranquils into the weird channeling boots. Curious as to what other custom items there are?
In PVP some characters (axe, lifestealer, timbersaw, etc) will need to be off limits. They are too good. Maybe sven too.
Very good game mode though. One question, is it possible to play this online with friends?
They *must* have the Dota workshop tools alpha and the gamemode installed from the workshop.
