Try un-subscribing and re-subscribing to the mod, make sure that the mod files are actually in the workshop content folder for crusader kings 3, you can compare the files found there to the files on github to confirm they are the right files.
Another issue could be that you are subscribed to the workshop mod, as well as have a local version of the mod in your Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\mods folder. If you do have both, that will prevent either from loading properly, ensure you only have either the workshop version, or the manually installed version.
Feel free to continue seeking help here, I will try to help you troubleshoot.
Tested this by launching a non ironman game and the button works perfectly fine.
So far, I'm unable to reproduce this. If you want to give me the exact steps to reproduce, I can check if I can get it to occur. Also, you could open console, type in explorer, change provider to Stories, find DI_misc_variables_story, and tell me if you see DI_char_spawner_no_traits under the script variables dropdown.
Well the debug mode button just sends a command to the console to toggle debug mode, since ironman mode disables console, it likely wouldn't work.
Thx for the instructions. I checked, and "DI_char_spawner_no_traits" doesn't appear under the script variables. But if this isn't a universal problem, I'll just live with it for this game.
Oddly enough, after I opened Script Variables and then reloaded my save game, the char spawn problem went away and they have traits now, so you did help, in a mysterious way. :)
