If you would like to contribute...
Considering that my artistic aptitude is non-existent, I wish to extend an invitation to anyone who either has the wherewithal to produce new, corrected sprites for various objects or who can shed light on a solution to the sprite-based issues that currently plague EK. This invitation extends - as well - to any who wish to take a crack at some of the more severe issues which might be fixable without a Barotrauma patch.

If you feel the call to expend your efforts on this cause, post below and add me. Doing only the latter is a futile effort, since I don't accept seemingly random invites.

I can't help with the sprite stuff but I've been working on an ek patch for the past few months and have also submitted a few separate mods as well, I turned the patch my server uses into a full EK replacement a few days after 1.0 hit but more modified to our preferences

I may be able to help with anything xml related

Hello Commisar. First hail the god emperor secondly. If you can shed some light for me on the sprite issue I might be able to help by recreating the spites which as I understand are the images or textures that everything uses. I have not made bit art like out of cubes but I can likely create the new sprites if needed. However if there is a possibility to reuse the old sprites that should still exist I would like to go that route. Anyways reach out to me I am no real coder but I am no slouch.

I have my own released and unreleased attempts at balance of EK, and i also agree that EK needs better sprites.
I might also help with this werid lua for barotrauma incompatibility.

I'll try to free up some time this afternoon.
I still haven't gotten to everyone from yesterday and need to get debugging done today, but having more artsy people on board will be a significant boon.

I use the old EK mods with Lua for Baro... I've not had any particular issues.

The bugs with Ramming Prow/ thrusters/ etc. are all a Barotrauma bug; Patch is made by devs but unreleased.

The black sprite issue with lighted components is an alpha blend issue, I've made a mod of my own to fix some of the most common ones. Simple as adding a small line of code to the light components, then testing to make sure they're not broken.

40mm grenades have been supposedly fixed in anothers' patch, Taj the King. Search EK Armory Awesome compatibility and see if he minds you taking them for your own.

Aware for the sprite issue - it was initially poorly explained by the one person who had an explanation and it turns out it required altering the sprites anyways. So that's on hold until one of the artists or the guy who provided the full explanation provides sprites with a transparent version of the scuffed layer.

I sent a message in the bug reports on the sprite issue. It doesn't actually need sprite editing, as my junction boxes and whatnot all function normally without any changes to the actual sprites.

I could attempt other coding tasks, if you'd like. I can't guarantee I could debug NEW issues, but probably resolve any that have a vanilla counterpart (Not perfect at writing new code, but spent lots of time fixing other mods' code by cross referencing and whatnot.)

With the exception of the Grapple Hook, which seems to have relied on pre-1.0 jank to function, and certain Dockyard assemblies, which are allegedly broken due to a bug that's being patched out by PG, the remaining issues are all likely tag, target definition, or other definition errors. If you want to save me time spent on manually checking and debugging issues, it's certainly welcome.

Hmm. I could take a crack at that, since it sounds like a fairly simple search, cross reference, add tags that seem appropriate. Lemme see about getting the other thing working first...

if there are still sprite issues i would certainly be willing to try and help, i have a fair amount of experience creating sprites myself. let me know if there any ways i can assist
