How do I install & play this mod?
First, you need a (genuine) install of the latest Terraria version on the PC (no other platform is supported). Then, you also need the latest supported version of tModLoader. You get that by installing tModLoader on Steam, or, if you are using GOG, from the tModLoader github[github.com] (follow these[github.com] install instructions if you are on GOG).
Then, either subscribe to this workshop item directly, which will download the mod for you next time you launch Steam, or you can open tModLoader, navigate to Workshop -> Download Mods, search for Thorium Mod, and click “Download with dependencies”.
Finally, once you start tModLoader, navigate to Workshop -> Manage Mods, find the mod in the list, and click the red Disabled button.
Is this mod playable on preview?
No. We made a conscious decision to not allow the mod to be playable on this version, as it is experimental and changes rapidly, often times preventing the mod from being played until we update it.
To play this mod, you need to switch to a supported version. Read the "How do I verify that I am on a supported version?" section below for instructions.
How do I verify that I am on a supported version?
In the bottom left corner of the main menu of tModLoader you can see its version. If your tModLoader is on 1.4.4, the number after the year should correspond to the version shown here[github.com]. If your tModLoader is on 1.4.3, the version should start with v2022.09.47.X. The mod will likely not work if it doesn't match (i.e. 2023.6.X.Y vs. 2023.7.X.Y). To switch to a supported version, right click tModLoader in your Steam library, click Properties…, then Betas, and in the drop down menu, select 1.4.3-legacy or None (for 1.4.4). If you are on GOG, simply reinstall tModLoader with the correct version as instructed above.
The mod doesn’t download, what do I do?
Sometimes, it takes Steam a while to start a download. Restart Steam and wait a minute for the workshop download to start. If you have automatic downloads disabled, you may need to launch tModLoader first to start downloading it.
If this fails, try troubleshooting with the "Item is/was already installed: Thorium Mod" section below.
"Item is/was already installed: Thorium Mod"
If the instructions provided by TML don't help, try this:
1) Delete the mod in Manage Mods Menu first.
2) Close the game
3) Unsub, sub, and unsub in Steam
4) Close Steam fully
5) In SteamApps/Workshop, delete appworkshop_1281930.acf
6) Start Steam
7) Start the game

The mod doesn’t appear in my Mods list, what do I do?
Read the "The mod doesn’t download, what do I do?" and "How do I verify that I am on a supported version?" section above.
The mod doesn’t update, what do I do?
If you notice that a newer version was released, but you are stuck on a previous version, follow these steps.
Steam:
Navigate to Workshop -> Manage Mods, find the mod in the list. If it has a pink/purple background instead of blue, this means you either installed it manually, or you got the mod from joining a multiplayer server while not being subscribed to the mod on the workshop.
In this case, click the green Enabled button, and then Back. Enter the menu again, and click the Trash Can icon to delete the mod. If the mod appears in the list still, but has a blue background, it is likely showing the updated version. If it still doesn’t, or the mod is not there, try unsubscribing, and re-subscribing the mod on the workshop, and restart Steam afterwards. If this fails, consult the tModLoader Discord[discord.gg].
GOG:
Same as Steam, except use the ingame Mod Browser instead of the workshop.
Does the mod work in multiplayer?
Yes. Two of the three classes are multiplayer focused, so it's our top priority to make everything work in multiplayer.
The mod disables itself when I host a world, what do I do?
Verify that the tModLoader version you and/or the server uses matches the latest supported version. See the “How do I verify that I am on a supported version?” section above for details.
Make sure the mod is also up-to-date. See the “The mod doesn’t update, what do I do?” section above for details.
It is absolutely vital that the server host also does all of these steps.
If that is the case, and it disables itself again after enabling it, see the “Where do I report bugs?” section below for details.
I can’t join a server, what do I do?
See the “The mod disables itself when I host a world, what do I do?” section above for details.
The mod is stuck downloading when I join a server, what do I do?
See the “The mod disables itself when I host a world, what do I do?” section above for details.
After moving my world to the server, all the modded tiles are gone?
Modded worlds require two files to be copied over: Both ending with
.wld and .twld respectively.
Is it compatible with Calamity Mod?
Yes.
Is the mod still playable on 1.3?
Yes. But the workshop won’t download the mod for that version. You need to get it from the ingame Mod Browser.
The 1.3 version is accessible by having the latest Terraria version. Then, right click tModLoader in your Steam library, clicking Properties…, then Betas, and in the drop down menu, select 1.3-legacy.
If you are on GOG, simply reinstall tModLoader with the correct version as instructed in “How do I install & play this mod?”, use the 1.3 release instead. Then, download the .tMod file here [github.com] and place it into your Mods folder, which you can access in the Mods menu by pressing “Open Mods Folder”.
Where can I find older versions?
For 1.4: You can't. Workshop does not provide this functionality.
For 1.3: See the "Is the mod still playable on 1.3?" section above. You can find older versions if you navigate back to releases.
Where do I report bugs?
First, make sure that your issue is not already known, see the “Known Bugs & Issues” post below. If it isn’t, join our Discord server[discord.gg] and visit the #bug_reports channel.
If an issue you are experiencing is not on this list, see the “Where do I report bugs?” section in the “Technical FAQ” post.
This list is constantly updated with bugs that are discovered by us or the community.
DISCLAIMER:
Verify that your issue occurs if you only have Thorium Mod enabled and nothing else. If your issue only happens if Thorium Bosses Reworked is also enabled, report the bug to them instead.
You can find older issues in this post below:
* [1.4.3-legacy] All bugs listed here Wiki Changelog[thoriummod.wiki.gg]
* [TML ISSUE] Yew and Cherry Blossom Tree tops are offset.
* [TML ISSUE] Marine Kelp Planter Box does not behave exactly like other Planter Boxes.

When the solution tells you to update another mod, this is likely due to having a version downloaded by joining a server previously. In this case, disable, then delete that mod, close the game, subscribe to it on the workshop, and finally restart Steam.
If you are a mod developer of one of the mods mentioned in this list, and you either fixed the bug or want help fixing the bug, reach out to us (See the Where do I report bugs? Section above.)
