FAQ - READ BEFORE ASKING A QUESTION!
1. How do I set-up a server with the mod?

2. Can I use this with Brita or any other gun mod?

Yes. Integrated Brita, VFE and Firearms B41 addons are included. Make sure you have each of their respective mods installed and enabled too.

ONLY USE ONE AT A TIME, THEY ARE INCOMPATIBLE WITH EACH OTHER


3. I don't spawn with any weapons, help!
You probably have the Brita legacy and the Main insurgent mods enabled. Don't use Brita legacy unless it's for an existing save game that was using it before!

If this isn't the issue, make sure you actually have the relevant gun mod enabled. Each weapon addon only adds the weapons to the spawn, it doesn't add them to the actual game.




4. Does this work with multiplayer? And singleplayer? And co-op?

Yes.



5. Why do I spawn with a black screen?

If you have Facility-7, disable it, it is incompatible.



6. Will you be adding more objectives? Will there be an actual goal or aim in the game outside of roleplay?

Can't say too much about this, but.. yes. Some big stuff is planned. No ETAs however



7. Where are the secret items? What do they do?

At the secret military base. Look carefully and in each room- like a true black ops operative.
They do nothing currently, however this is planned to change.

Way more are planned in the next big future content update.



8. Will there be more spawns?

Yes! This is planned.



9. Are more classes planned? Can I spawn with an SMG or LMG?

This isn't currently in the mod, but it's planned.



10. Why is the reloading & aiming skills so high for the base profession?

1. You're a black-ops operative, so of course you'll be amazing with firearms.
2. In-game level 5 aiming is the least required to use the M16 somewhat effectively- so it would be a little sad if you weren't able to do so.
3. Even with these skills, you’ll still run out of ammo! Project Zomboid is designed for Run N Gun styles, so good luck still!



11. The profession starts with too many/not enough trait points. Change it!

I set the default quite high (+12 points) so that you can enjoy the benefit of the unique traits, with a touch of some negative trait balance if you wanted more points. Even with this, you’ll hit a limit with how many you can take. As an Insurgent, you aren’t meant to be an untrained joe public, you’re an Insurgent, the best of the best!

So get out there and kill, soldier!



12. I want to start with X weapon instead!

Unfortunately I cannot take every weapon mod or weapon in the game into account to start with. Anyone is free to make a patch to amend this if they'd like.



13. I want to select X clothing from X mod in the character creation screen!

There are far too many clothing mods for me to add to the character creation screen. Within the sandbox you can select the option to start with any clothing in character creation, including mod clothing.



14. Why can't I select unfit, obese, pacifist, etc traits?

Well.. how many out of shape, unfit, obese, pacifist, asthmatic scared-of-blood illiterate deaf black-ops soldiers do you know?

Wait.. I don't know any black-ops soldiers.. you might actually have a point! ;)



15. I want X trait from this mod available for other professions! Do it!

This mod is overpowered enough as it is, there's a reason they're entirely exclusive to Insurgents!

However, if enough people request it then I'd maybe consider making a stand-alone mod that adds these.




16. Can I find the custom equipment if I choose not to play as an insurgent?

You can! However, they can't be found as standard loot in containers, and are meant to be very very rare. You’re better off spawning it in if you want it that badly.

You can find other deceased/zombified Insurgent soldiers at special points of the map. They will not randomly spawn, and can only be found at predetermined locations! Once each one is found, no more will spawn at that location. This is for balance and realism reasons.


17. What is the inspiration? Why do the Insurgents kinda look like Hunk?

This wasn’t actually the original intention! I originally based them off the Black Ops soldiers from Half Life Opposing Force, but thought altering the gas mask to red would be fun. Insurgents are really just meant to be their only thing.

Want the Half Life Black Ops look? Take off the helmet + gasmask and put a balaclava on that bad boy.



18. "Insurgents"? What kind of name is that?
It's just a code-name for their black ops special forces unit. They aren't actual insurgents.



19. Why do you say the mod is lore-friendly when it clearly isn’t?!

Well, lore-friendly is purely subjective. I did everything in my mind to make the mod somewhat lore friendly to me. I believe it’d make sense that the government would send in cover-up squads if they were directly involved somehow (which the lore implies a certain extend of cover-up). I also tried to style the Insurgent clothing on the vanilla clothing models, but with a tactical twist.

I’ll admit the red gas mask is probably the least lore-friendly part lol. But it does look cool!




20. Can I make X patch or X addon to this mod?

Sure! The more the merrier. I’d love to see what other ideas people have :D Just make sure to credit myself, Notloc and Spyjack for the Insurgent concept.
