The US Fascist path however shouldn't just be complete Silver Legion rise, because OTL they were a pretty small group to my knowledge, and while they likely would be bigger here, they wouldn't be massive.
My idea is generally this and simplified. It can also depend if you want to alter lore or not. My Idea is the US is more divided by the time of WW1, One Bloc wishing to Join the Germans to oppose the British and Confederates, the other being the Main Neutral or British aligned. While the Pro German Party gains more support throughout the war, the US manages to stay Neutral long enough for the Entente to win and Confederate divisions to land in France.
Because of this, American revanchism takes a blow. and skipping to 1936 + great depression. America had fallen into a battle between the Moderate Parties, The Radical Right Coalition and the Socialists. America would then have 3-4 options in the 36 elections. Republicans/Dems, Say for WIP "America First Party" (Rightists) and Communist party.
I could go more, but this is enough. To very simplify the suggestion, America should be portrayed as more divided with the 1936 election deciding between dem, fascist, commie
I was thinking of having a very polarized US in terms of politics, however, I was going to have the Republicans and Democrats both be completely dead, and have some other smaller parties make a 4 party system. The other idea I had for the US was to have the Business Plot succeed and have a Smedley Butler authoritarian state. However the idea you proposed is pretty good. I’m still in the planning stage for the US so I’ll update on what I go through with.
I did want to add a democratic tree to Mexico but it really didn’t make sense to add it since the december coup is led by right wing parties, and free/open elections is what led to (within the lore) the giving up of Sonora and many problems Mexico had. I’ll think about creating a democratic tree in the next update.
I was more referring to the Confederacy as I noticed you made a Huey Long tree. I understand Mexico not having a Democratic focus tree as Mexican Democracy has pretty much always been unstable and still is.
Oh, I see. I’ll look into expanding the democratic tree for CSA. I do think there should definitely be more unique candidates for the presidency and such. And as it stands, it doesn’t have much content.
This is sort of an immersion thing, but what would really help the mod aesthetically is a rework of some of the Portraits and Unit models.
The Confederates were always really big on the 'wearing of the grey', and to this day it summarizes what a rebel is/was. In the scenario of Deo Vindice, it is highly likely the Confederacy would have still been using Grey as a base for their Uniforms, and while I don't doubt the usage of British Firearms and such, I do doubt the use of British equipment such as the Brodie Helmet, when the Confederacy most likely would have adopted their own. Updating the Unit Models to look more like Confederate troops would be very immersive.
Same thing with most of the General's portraits, some of which are wearing U.S. Uniforms, which really kind of ruins the immersion. Even just changing their uniform color to a Grey hue and removing the "U.S." Collar pins would make it 1000% Better.
There are a couple of other Confederacy mods that already do this, one has not been updated for over two years, and the other isn't anywhere as near as fleshed out as this.
But still, great job with everything, this mod is by far the Best Confederacy mod I have ever played, only hope it gets better!
