Freak about numbers
Let me start by saying thank you and your mod is amazing.

Now, I must confess I am a freak about numbers with armor/weapons etc.; specifically, I have noticed that the weapon costs are not necessarily reflective of the quality. Taking a step back, ignore all donor weapons for the purposes of this discussion, I am talking only about the standard arsenal. After playing your mod a decent amount (more than i should in a short period of time lol), it is clear that there is no benefit in buying certain weapons. I buy all different weapons for the lelz cause I can't use the same stuff or my brain will explode. Before going to some examples I want to say that the fact that you made it so the different classes all have a benefit/detriment is AWESOME (screw hordetown for being LeBad). Now I ask, unjustifiably so (you are probably like who the **** is this pleb) if you could entertain lowering and raising the prices of non-donor weapons to give players a reason to buy 'x' over 'y'. Taking it several steps further, I am going to ask that your balancing has the following overall goals: (1) make it so players buy 'x' over 'y' for no other reason than "'x' is cheaper than 'y' and I NEED a weapon besides the butterknife right now"; (2) players buy 'x' over 'y' because 'x' is good against heavily armored enemies, even though buying 'x' is will mean do less damage to unarmored/light enemies; and (3) last and maybe MOST importantly, balance weapons so that they are proportionately equal.

(1) was self explanatory
(2) pretty self explanatory
(3) here is where there is the most issue. For example, the hatchet is by far the best weapon FOR THE PRICE in the game. Not only is it cheaper than everything save for cudgel, it is also objectively better than many other 'cheap' weapons. The hatchet basically is the biggest culpret, at least where 'cheap' weapons are concerned. I always find myself saying "damn i'm sick of the hatchet, but why buy the norse sword for 3 times the cost to get a little more speed and less dmg?" Basically all weapons around the 600 price are questionable in terms of whether you should buy them or just go hatchet. To reiterate, MANY of the weapons 600 or less are BETTER than the hatchet overall, but they are nowhere near as good proportionately.

Sorry about the essay. I really enjoy your mod, this price/effectiveness conundrum has just been something I felt strongly about.

Was reading your dissucion and thought what about the billhook. Then I realized that there is no billhook in this mode. In fact there is no billhook, claymore (normal), fork, light flail, 2hd longsword, 2hd sword of war, holy water sprinkler (normal), war axe, or shortsword in this mode. Perhaps Elko could add them as a weapon expansion for all players. Surpised noone brought this up yet, includeing myself.

You are absolutely correct. It doesn't seem that difficult to add those weapons. Hopefully he will.

Just gimme a list of weps to add (possible where to add) and ur price adjustments.
It is indeed not difficult to add more weapons, however, it may cause issues with Vang or MAA, due to sprint/ dodge incompatibility. But we'll deal with that afterwards ^^

Hey Elko!

Here is a link to a google document for the price adjustments (on existing weapons).

The prices in Orange are just my suggested changes.

By the way, I just want to say, I love your mod and play it everyday. I just want to say the biggest issues now (once the prices are adjusted) are the following: (1) weapons become useless later on (besides the donor items and the lightsabre); and (2) there is a lot of lag in later waves.

I want to preface with this: I will have my Doctorate in Law in six weeks, but I have zero knowledge of coding or programming; thus, it has been frustrating to try and figure mechanics out using the 'kismet' in the editor. In other words, I have decent ideas but lack the ability to implement them.

1. I understand and appreciate that you should eventually DIE in horde mode. You don't 'win'. Weapons being LESS powerful over time reflects this concept. However, I feel that there might need to be one more 'tier' of weapons that still do decent damage in the waves about about 25-30. Maybe there could be changes to the large messer and the klinge that make them do more damage or scale a LITTLE with waves. Maybe you could add, or I could help in any way possible, to add some custom weapons like the klinge that do even MORE damage but cost 3500 or more...just ideas here, not really sure of solution.

2. Server seems to lag in later waves with a lot of people. I don't think it is my pc because it doesn't happen on hordetown with 300 or more enemies...I don't know for sure though.

Congrats on ur Doctorate :)
Indeed it won't help u to set up new weapons nor will Kismet xD

So u want more weapons dealing more damage but for a higher price?

Simple enough but I don't feel like this makes sense especially when the lags are not resolved. I need to look into them but need more info.

Does it lag all the time or maybe only at the beginning of the wave, or when they respawn during the wave (respawns only happen when the enemies alive drop to a certain number (35 for normal and 50 for hard), respawning them until 50 alive enemies)?

Btw. the max alive enemies of Horde Town is hardcoded to 50 which matches the default setting of Sandcastle.

So maybe the easier scaling of max alive enemies of Horde Town or the enemy types r the cause. There was an issue with horde bombers causing lags because of the fancy explosion particles which are now changed to simple ballista impact particles...

Hm. that's a good question. I think that it lags when there are a lot of enemies grouped together in one area. Not so much just because there are a lot on the map in general.

And thanks!
