Requesting a ritual centered around gaining worship. Maybe something like a service? Christians and Muslims have weekly service for example. Maybe this ritual would have a low cool down and, on success, do nothing but max out worship and give mood buff.

Also requesting that the sacrifice be tied to the sacrifice precept please. My colonists have a -5 mood debuff because of low sacrifice need, even if I have Sacrifice precept set to abhorrent in our ideology.

Thank you for your consideration!

Oh yes I have actually been thinking about this exact thing. In order to get the mod out there I decided against including it in the initial release because I thought that maybe people just want to create their own "regular" rituals to serve the purpose of a sermon/mass, but if it's something that's desired it shouldn't be too hard to include!

About the mood debuff, that should have been fixed with the latest hotfix, but if the problem persists let me know. It's a known bug that sacrifice rituals don't actually give the appropriate memory thoughts (the idea is for the rituals to give a "Sacrifice happened, I love/hate that" moodlet), and is something I'm looking into.

Excellent, I'd really like that sermon ritual yes. As for the sacrifice mood buffs and debuffs, I should check again. I'm not home so I'm not sure if the hotfix got it, since I last played over 12 hours ago.

Howdy, know you already addressed this just agreeing that a service addition would be awesome. I've got a pastor and everything and besides like once a year, hes not able to hold services or anything even though I'm playing a hyper religious colony.

Maybe you can also add like a physical offering if that is possible? Commonly churches take donations, maybe the pawns can give away money with each service. Gives an incentive to gather silver/gold or whatever currency.

Also maybe mine is just acting funny, but there isn't any negatives currently to having a low worship, none of my pawns develop a debuff or anything.

Really appreciate you providing this mod, definitely feel like it was needed and added a lot of flavor for me. Really cool to see the pawns all gather for church from 9-12 everyday to worship. Obviously cuts down on productivity but way more realistic.

Thanks again!

Services & physical offerings (both items and colonists) are planned features for sure.

Just to clarify, you're not getting any debuffs with Worship set to Required?

Since I complained about it, it seems to have fixed itself. :) Think all it took was a restart on my end, so no worries. Thanks for the quick reply, look forward to the further updates!

I would love to see the restriction of animal sacrifice to the human primacy meme lifted, and this mod seems like a natural home for that tweak.

Animal sacrifice has been a huge part of a lot of religions for millennia (Greek paganism, Germanic paganism, pre-modern Vedic religion, even ancient Judaism), but Rimworld's idea of human primacy doesn't necessarily feel like a good fit for all of these. This would open up more ideoligions to being able to make use of this mod's new mechanics.

Relatedly, ritual options for sacrifice of material goods could add a lot of flavor. Historical examples include: grain, wine, arms and armor, coins, symbolic figurines. In some cases these were burned, and in other cases they were buried or cast into bodies of water, but even a simple ritual that arbitrarily destroys an object could open up a lot of flavorful options.

This should already be part of the mod, assuming you're using a (vanilla) ideo theist structure.

Material offerings/sacrifices is definitely a feature I've got my eyes on, do not fret.

Ah, that would be the problem: I'm using the Eldritch structure from Vanilla Ideology Expanded. There's no way make this change apply globally, I suppose?

Not easily, no. I will probably update this mod to include patches for VIE in the future, but they're quite tedious to write unfortunately.

Some sort of "spiritual healing" isn't a bad idea, I'll consider it!

A thought: at the moment praying increases worship VERY slowly, and kinda makes choosing a worship-ideology a really bad idea. So to balance this, I thought maybe you could add a ritual with a VERY fast cooldown that is essentially the Moral Authority role leading a 'service' that puts every participating pawn's worship meter at max.

Another +1 for the sermon/worship ritual. I just started using this and it stood out fairly quickly as a perfect fit.
