Worship and Sacrifice

Description
Worship & Sacrifice expands upon religious ideoligions by implementing two new needs: Worship and Sacrifice!

All ideoligions that use a theist foundation/structure (including Archist) now have access to two new precepts: Worship and Sacrifice. These precepts dictate how members of those ideoligions respond to the two new needs with appropriate mood (de)buffs.

Pawns can be scheduled to worship similar to meditation (or other tasks) where they'll seek out the best temple/church available and otherwise worship in their bedrooms or just outside. Note that an impressive temple will yield faster worship gain!

The sacrifice need can only be fulfilled by performing one of three rituals:
- Prisoner Sacrifice
- Animal Sacrifice
- Gladiator Duel

The former two have been unlocked for all theist structures, so it's no longer necessary to take the cannibal meme to sacrifice prisoners, for instance.

In addition to these new needs, theist structures now unlock a new "Blessing" ritual. This ritual is heavily affected by the average worship satisfaction among all pawns of that ideoligion in the colony. If the ritual is satisfying, you will receive blessings by one of your deites.

As of now, there are two possible blessings:
- Weapon blessings; if the targeted pawn is holding a neolithic melee weapon, that weapon will be "blessed" granting it persona-like properties.
- If the pawn is not holding a weapon, the pawn themselves will be blessed, granting them heightened consciousness for a period of time.

COMPATIBILITY:
I have tested the mod in a fairly large modlist and found no major incompatibilities, but I can't guarantee that it'll work with mods like CE. For now, the mod does not patch additional memes and structures even if they are theist. Such patches might come in the future in which case I'll list them here.

The mod should be fine to add mid-save, but you might need to re-do your ideoligion to make sure rituals and such are added properly. I can't guarantee that it's safe to remove, do it at your own risk!

i wish they made secular and theistic beliefs a bit more different in Ideology, look i get the idea that they are both psychologically the same but come on.

If you fork it, I would love a continuation of the sacrifice ritual also. Surprisingly little morbid rituals in such a dark game as Rimworld.

I hesitate to fully declare it dead, since I still think it's more or less the only mod that fills this niche (that i know of!). I do however find it unlikely that I will return to working on it until I find myself feeling the RimWorld itch again, and who knows when that might happen.

The source code is public and linked in the description, I encourage forking and continuing the work. I will probably even answer questions or lend a hand if necessary.

For now I just give my pagan religions human primacy but make them venerate typical pets such as cats, dogs and horses. No Horse sacrifice at Christmas but I make them have a Christmas tree party instead anyway.
The Christmas tree is a representation of the world tree with its sacred life giving apples (which centuries ago tasted horrid but associated with health) and ash fruit. Tho modern Christmas trees are usually pine trees.
