Mechs are impossible to defeat
Mechs, which were OP to begin with, are now unplayable against due to this mod. even a small mech attack can wipe a large colony out without issue. This is ridiculous.
Short of charge rifles and cheats, nothing seems to be able to stand up against this. either reduce the mechanoid raid strength or reduce their godly ability.
clearly a mod made by mall ninjas

oh and edit:
mortar shells break haulers as they attempt to load shells but cant for some reasons. get a "should have checked before attempting to load" error when pawns and mechs get stuck in hauling job

Try AP-I ammo. Try EMP ammo. Try rocket launchers against centipedes. Stop complaining about mod and git gud.

Bruh i got attacked by a mech ship at day 6 and my whole colonie got ruined and i had difculty easy on.:steamthumbsup:

did that too sister humper. the shields on the heavy mech didnt even flinch with full mounted grenade launcher with full clip lobbing at it, product of family marriage

had those too. mortars couldnt get a strike due to the enemy spawn and map so there was no way i could get binocs out there to spot.

had 8 people withh full ap-i and ap-he rounds with mounted grenade launcers with EMP's and HE grenades. The shield on the centurion didnt even drop with a full clip of EMP and HE grenades from the launcher and the advanced ammo.
This being at the end of a long tunnel roofed in with wooden floors burning with temps exceeding 1500 degrees F for extended periods.

I am beginning to think the mod has a slight bug when loading mechs or maybe its how it handles armor. Some mech raids seem to melt like butter while the next with similar composition seems to be nigh invulnerable from everything being shot at it no matter what is thrown at it.

could always be a conflict with some other mod im running but im curios if someone else has noticed this?

i saw a single centipede break 4 plasteel walls then kill a kid from nearly 50 tiles away.The armor changes are annoying enough that they cant be disabled, but mechanoids are a little ridiculous

another thing the blunt penetration from a centipede blaster with 12x64 is 324 MPa instead of 32.4 MPa, I dont know for sure if this is just combat extended or another mod I have screwing with the dmg output but 324 MPa is ridiculous as it basically oneshots any limb even with marine armour.

It is in fact supposed to be 324. When you start getting bullets that huge, it's impossible not to feel it, it's just physics.

Ive not had trouble with mechs other than against lancers which have insane firerates for what they carry, I usually arm my soldiers with something chambered in 7.62 and have that loaded with AP to handle mechs, by the time centipedes are a problem, theres a bunch of turrets with overlapping fields of fire that they can't really handle all of them and go down.

Mechs are not invincible at all if you find the right way to deal with them. The way of my colony's survival is through the heavy weapon .The whole point of this simple strategy, is stop using your industrial rifle or light machine gun when facing enemy who use charged weapon. The kpv and M2 have better performance far beyond the rifle in pawn's hand .
You can try to simulate some battles , pawns in bullet proof helmet use kpv again lancer (you can give him a shield), your pawn only need one~three shots to kill a lancer, even before it has chance to fire.
As for centipede, you do remember you have bigger guns ,like 90mm and spg-9 ,right? :steamhappy: They can finish it off with only only shot in the head .
This will be enough for simple mode , some more complex strategy like transverse kpv , building a Professional army , surround you colony with firing wall to immune melee...can be useful in 500% threat scale.

the problem is that the mechanitors in late game are not balanced, i have a raid of 40x armed men from a faction and they doesnt cross the perimeter wall, but 2 days after that a raid of mechanitors kill all the colony in seconds 3 war queens and more than 15 centipedes and other things. You cannot switch all time between weapons and ammo in all your pawns for each raid its not simple, for the next colony i think i will disable the mechanoids for this unfair balance
