(My apologies if starting a discussion is gauche in some way; I don't comment on stuff often so I don't know steam workshop etiquette at all.)

So, I’m fine with trying the scenario again somewhere even warmer. But it just doesn’t seem right to me.

While my saurid was lying on the ground incapacitated, I spent some time watching the wildlife in the desert I’d landed in, including an iguana and a desert tortoise. Both were doing completely fine despite also being reptiles. I know that there are absolutely more fragile reptiles out there in real life that need constant high temperatures to survive. But I also know there are more hardy ones too - hell, I live in canada, where it gets much colder than 4 degrees, and we have several native species of reptile. These animals survive months of winter in hibernacula where the temperature is only slightly above freezing (0 degrees c) by going into torpor (which doesn’t slowly kill them over the course of a few hours like it seems to do for saurids.) I don’t think saurids should be able to function just fine in those sorts of temperatures, but I feel like they should be able to stay alive at least.

It really doesn’t make sense to me from a lore standpoint as well. If I’m reading the description right, these are xenohumans made to be workers in harsh environments. Why would their employers want them to function like a delicate chameleon instead of a hardy mountain short-horned lizard?

Also, I just want clarification that the cold-blooded gene is supposed to specifically +5 minimum comfortable temperature and -5 maximum temperature, since it's not in the mod description. It seems wrong to me that my saurid has a comfortable temperature range of 21-21 degrees. I don't think there's any animal out there that has a temperature range that small.

Don't get me wrong, I love love love the idea of this race. I'm not trying to tear this apart or anything, I'm just really passionate about reptiles.
