Maximizing Content & Minimizing Crashes
---

By request, this has been created to provide details on which mods add the 'most content' and which mods are the 'heaviest' in terms of system resources. Mods with higher resource demands can lead to crashes if your system’s RAM or VRAM isn’t sufficient to handle them all.

'Anime Core Lib' and 'Hunjian Common Lib' are not included here because they are NOT optional. They really don't contribute to RAM/VRAM issues either way.

Sorted By 'Most' to 'Least' Content

This is not an objective view nor statement about the quality of any given mod. Since it's the same devs working on a few of these, it'd be a little crazy to expect every single content pack they put out to be on the level of say, Hm Invasion. What a nightmare just to maintain that'd be! So some of them just add the Waifus and not much else, but isn't that what we're all here for anyway?

Note that 'content' as it is being used here is strictly referring to the amount of 'things' you can do or experience and will NOT take into account the amount of Waifus any given mod adds.

Also note that there are mods here that are combined into one entry, such as Hm Invasion Base and Hm Invasion Expanded. This is because, while the Expanded mod is the one that actually adds all of the content, you still need the Base mod to run it anyway. So if you are looking to get the 'most content', you'd have to run these together regardless.

1) Hm Invasion Base + Hm Invasion Expanded
2) Arknights + Suzuran Religion
3) Blue Archive Base + Blue Archive Expanded
4) Azur Lane
5) Maid Universalis
6) Girls' Frontline

Sorted by 'Heaviest'

If you experience crashes when launching the game, first make sure to have Steam verify your game files. If that doesn't work, you can try deleting the CK3 mod folder in your Documents folder. And if even that doesn't work, you may be facing an issue where you are crashing due to running out of RAM and/or VRAM.

This happens because these mods add hundreds upon hundreds of unique character portraits and the PC can't handle the cuteness overload. :(

This next list will rank mods by the number of portraits, as that is the primary contributor to hitting the limit on your RAM/VRAM capacity.

As an aside, I previously ran every single mod at once without issue using these PC Specs, which may serve as a benchmark:
- Intel i7 CPU (Forgot if 1200 or 1300 series)
- RTX 2080 SUPER Max-Q (Laptop GPU)
- 32GB RAM

While these specs worked for me, this is not a strict requirement. I'd wager a guess that it was the extra RAM (32GB) which made the biggest difference here. I'd also imagine that 16GB will work, but I have absolutely nothing to base that on except a gut feeling and 'trust me bro'.

Anyway, the list:

1) Hm Invasion Base + Hm Invasion Expanded
2) Girls' Frontline
3) Azur Lane
3) Blue Archive Base
5) Arknights
6) Maid Universalis

Final Notes
- This list was made at request and is not to be treated as holy gospel. Ultimately, it's just to (hopefully) save an hour or two of trying to figure out which mods from here may be contributing to RAM/VRAM crashes the most.

As always, the best way to test if it works on your system is to, well, just test it on your system!

But if you REALLY want my opinion:

*) Try loading Hm Invasion Base + Hm Invasion Expanded
-I cannot play without these two mods anymore, so even though it'd be painful, I'd rather give up the rest to be able to run these two.

-If you crash with these alone, then you may consider just using something like Azur Lane by itself or a combination of the ones with lesser RAM/VRAM impact.

-If you don't crash, then you keep adding the next mod you'd want to use and check if the game boots fine. Rinse and repeat until you reach the point where your game finally can't take it.
