Remnants
Remnant's 'Freedom of Movement' and Calamity's movement speed changes.
Hello, sorry if this has been asked before, but I had a small question about this compatibility thing between Calamity and Remnants.

In the description of Remnant's 'Freedom of Movement' config, it's mentioned that you advise using Remnant's over Calamity's changes. I assume this only pertains to the 50% movement speed Calamity gives by default, is this correct?

I was also wondering why exactly this advise is given. While I'm willing to take it at face value, if you had any further reasoning behind this decision it would be greatly appreciated! Calamity is balanced with that movement speed in mind, after all, so I don't want to run into- or worry about running into- any unforseen complications.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you're only advised to disable the movement speed buff that Calamity gives to the players, the other movement-related stuff is irrelevant, remnants only changes the acceleration, deacceleration and max run speed.

It's given simply out of balance concerns. The more you buff your character's base movement speed, the more powerful it would become. Most of the content this mod adds was designed with only the base remnants' movement speed buffs in mind, same with Calamity - they can't really account for the base movement speed being more than the config allows. So, to keep things somewhat balanced, you should only keep either of the buffs on.

the main reason remnants buff is advised because it is just nicer to use as it increases acceleration and slowdown for better control unlike calamity
Ah, alright. Thank you for the quick responses!
