Getting my own land?
Is there any way to get my own land while serving as a Samurai? I'm serving under Lord Nerita and I'm all the way up to Hamato Cavalry in rank, is there a way I can branch off and start my own faction now? Do I need to be released from his service to do this?

i think you need to be release from sevice first

Yep Jonx is right. You could become his vassal once his relation with you is good. If you thinking of creating your own faction become his vassal first and take castles and ask if the castle be rewarded to you (You will need to do it your self) If he gives it to you then good keep taking more castles. Soon your lord will say no at this time you can leave and start a new faction with the castles or towns that you own. (The faction that you were in however will declear war on you)

Make sure that you have around 40 or more right to rule or other factions will see you as a warlord and declear war on you.
