For people who cannot use this bot because the default valve bots keep overwriting the selection:

First an explanation of the issue:
Valve allegedly only supports the top 3 bot AI scripts in the workshop. Without this support from valve this bug will always occur. so until this bot reaches that status of "one of the most popular bot AI scripts" use the following bypass instructions to play with your friends:


Step 1:
go to this file path, depending on where Dota is installed:
steamapps\workshop\content\570\2801265602
Once you are in this folder hit Ctrl A + Ctrl C, this copies all contents of this folder.

Step 2:
go to this file path, which should be on the save drive as the folder above:
steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\game\dota\scripts\vscripts
Create a folder titled "bots" without the quotes if you do not have one already.
Now paste all the contents you copied from Step 1 into this new bots folder.

Step 3:
Boot up Dota 2.
Create a custom Lobby, invite your friends.
Make sure to set the Server Location for this lobby to "Local Host".
Fill empty slots with bots should be checked, both teams bot scripts should be set to "Local Dev Script".
When you start the lobby it should run the Edge AI script.
