Rule of the thumb is, if you have an issue others don't, try clearing configs and verifying game files.
Though its not every hex, its specific hexes. Let me run a test and see if this has something to do with the tarpits you mentioned.
Also for around 1 day Map Preview was on this list. It didn't work well and caused issues similar to what you describe. Try removing it or downloading the latest version of the modlist & configs. Also, always clear old configs before copying new ones.

Some of the mods in the collection tends to break the game, Expanded World Generation
was the one I removed, but there's also the Real Ruins mod that I removed
The most common troublemaker is by far Expanded World Generation. It should be the first candidate to yeet before you start looking for other solutions.
Now, I have not had any raid after almost 60 days, did that happen to anybody else?

This happens since the game treats raids the same as all negative events. So with the higher amount of those available, raids are less probable to happen. The addition of hybrid animal raids attacks from VE Genetics balances that most of the time since it operates outside the system, but those do not drop anything useful ofc, which can feel unsatisfying. Incident Tweaker is on the list to counter this. You can go to its options and set the probability for raids to be picked as a negative event at x4 or whatever you feel is fitting.
By the way, I am impressed by your reactivity every time and really thank you for this!
For instance, I also accepted a quest to protect beggars against bad guys, but the quest expired and the bad guys never showed up.
