I am playing as the chiss and due to the fact that it took me until 2400 to finally get the "into the unknown" tech and joining the rest of the galaxy i am seemingly unable to join the galactic market. As the vanilla galactic community has been changed to the galactic republic which i can not figure out how to join and I haven't had and pop ups for an offer to join it. I am very confused how the chiss are supposed to be played if you take until the late game just to be able to leave the unknown regions and even after that you are locked out of a pretty important game mechanic by being locked out of the galactic market. Am i just unlucky or missing something? or is the chiss something that is the middle of a rework and should not be played?
