Harder settings
Which settings should I change to make the mod more challenging? Currently it is way too easy to overcome infection.

You tune down the antibody growth.
For some reason I can't put it lower than 1.0
then leave it there and increase the other settings, those are the side effects that affects your characters immune system to fight back, basically the virus will have an easier time winning over your immune system, but personally I think the settings are just fine as they are, as the virus wins over your body by default if you don't sit still and look after yourself.
And this can be especially difficult on real time MP servers where you can speed up time unless you sleep.

Well so far on my dedicated MP people are always surviving. And I am talking about new people to the game, constantly running here and there. I am more looking for some specific settings, because I am not sure if I will break something....

not sure how to change statistic for MP, but with my experience as a veteran player, I never recover with just the base settings.
So I dont know what to tell you at this point.
The menu itself doesnt affect MP as far as I know, but maybe it does.
If anything try and crank the effects down so heavily on everything that it will make your players die no matter what, remember they have to be negative digits not positive digits.

its food being OP (with 0,5 per satiety status level). if I would have a flu IRL, more food would not help me much...
I may guess you may increase period of infection-antibodies growth, so players have to manage their disease longer so more chances to fail treatment.

also, infection from bite should not start from 0 (as there are a lot of viruses going into a body with a bite), while antibodies shouldnt also....(player one of those immuned)

IRL it would be like 10:1 bite/antibodiese at start, and if player will be so lucky, it could at 7 day become 1:1,1

sorry for messed up english, I can provide some info from medical perspective later if you need it.

I wish your mod well, as you write it in description its very close to other vanilla mechanic, but I guess its need to be a little rougher and longer, because bites are no jokes...

anyone work out how to make settings based on the server settings for this mod and not individual?

I think the survival rate is fine but there should be more drawbacks during the recovery. Characters should still have a raging fever, have to drink a ton of liquids, be exhausted all the time or have similar handicaps until they get over the infection, as it is it kinda trivializes it too much.
Somebody made a harder variant of the mod with 1.2 and 0.1-0.2 antibody growth. TBH at that point you might as well leave the game at default Apocalypse, since you pretty much need to build a specialized character to survive the infection in the first case and in the second I don't think you'll ever beat the curve :)

I did not make this a mod but this is something I tested and I found to be the best balance settings. The idea being assuming you can feed yourself well and keep yourself clean you can survive a single bite. You can also survive two bites if you keep yourself full of bursting and can get a hold of a decent amount of alcohol. Surviving three bites MIGHT be possible but probably not.

deep wound: -0.04
bitten: -0.05
cut/laceration: -0.025
scratched: -0.01

infection effects
regular infection: -0.025
virus scratch infection: -0.04
cut/laceration infection: -0.05
virus bite infection: -0.05

moodle effects
bleeding: -0.1
stress: -0.025
unhappy: -0.04
heavy load: -0.025
drunk: 0.02875 (0.03 if 0.2875 is too hard)
food eaten: 0.0575 (0.06 if .0575 is too hard)

Well Antibodies is a training wheels mod so not being too punishing isn't really a flaw.
It seems that how lethal the infection is depends heavily on how long you set your infection time for?

Yes, that and the Resilient trait, which greatly increases your chances of survival. IMO gradual buildup of infection should be a thing otherwise you're forced into a glass-cannon build. On the other hand - each hit can be deadly so effectively the stakes are always high - no matter if you're facing a single zombie, a group or a horde.

I also had this issue while reading through this discussion, but my safest bet was to set anitbody growth to around 150 (you can survive roughly two bites)
