Playerspawns

Am I the only one around here, who has problems with custom playerspawnpoints? The only way to get them is using a spawnselect-mod. Why do players always spawn in the same area? Even after editing the xml file... On every map custom playerspawnpoints are working, but not at Rostow :-(
