Project Zomboid

Project Zomboid

Authentic Z
Mod does not show in the B42 mods menu
As the title says, this mod isn't showing up in the mods menu when using unstable branch.
It does however appear if you switch to current, B41 version of the game.

I tried several methods already, uninstalling and reinstalling, uninstalling, making sure all mod files are gone, then reinstalling. Putting it in the steamapps/ProjectZomboid workshop folder, putting it in the Zomboid/mods and Zomboid/workshop folders. Copying B42 folder into main folder in all locations I mentioned above.

It's like the game still considered Authentic Z as B41 mod only.

Also I am on linux (Ubuntu 24.04), if this will help with anything.

No, I mean, you have used mods for 42 before? I need more information about your setup. What mods do you use? I don't know why its not showing up for you, again, need more information.

I am playing on steam deck, i made a collection for easy refrence of all the mods I was using, all worked except AuthenticZ. Here is the collection link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2728281041 , I also ran no mods except AuthenticZ, no luck still.

I had the same issue at first. I disabled all mods and restarted (once or twice - wasn't paying attention/not expecting it), while tried to research the issue, suddenly it was in the mod list and usable. (although I encounter some issues, probably from conflicting mods ;))

Interestingly enough for me it seems subscribing to the mod is not downloading anything, for me at least.

Yes, I have used other ones, here's a collection with all mods I am subscribed to. Only about 3 of them aren't updated to b42 (Mod options, Tsar's Common Library and True Actions), and they are the only ones not appearing. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3398985391

Yes I have been using mods for 42. Using Linux Mint currently.

I have tried deleting everything in the workshop folder for the game and validating and also tried restarting Steam entirely. That has worked for a few other mods that weren't showing before but no luck for this one. Not sure what else to do.

I might have actually found the issue (?). Linux, at least my distribution, is case sensitive. I changed the name of Common folder to lowercase in all 3 mod folders. All 3 show up now. I don't know what the indie stone did between b41 and b42 but it seems like linux version of the game in b42 requires all folders to be in lowercase. At least the common folder.
ARYMAN IS RIGHT TY
