- added the Shieldmaidens (light cav), Ayrudzi (light cav), Bagatur (heavy cav), Ballistrai (archers), Skoutatoi (pikemen), Akritai (skirmishers) and Varangian Guards (heavy inf) MaA types
- added new MaA icons for Bowmen, Cataphracts, Druzhina, Gendarme, Heavy Cavalry, Heavy Infantry, Hobelars, Konni and Monaspa
- added new cultural tradition icons for Eastern Roman Legacy and Byzantine Traditions

- re-wrote the province title history database for the Byzantine Empire, Georgia and Armenia
- expanded the Bana dynasty of Tondai Nadu and promoted them to duke-tier in both start dates
- expanded the Hupoldinger dynasty; they are now counts of Nordlingen in both start dates
- expanded the Banu Sulaym and Kaysite dynasties; connected them by marriage and fixed their title history (867)
- Rostislav of Tmutarakan now has the disinherited trait and is no longer a vassal of Kievan Rus' (1066)
- carved up the large Shaybanid realm in Palestine among relatives to break up domain limits a bit (867)
- added the family of Ostromir as vassals in Novgorod; connected them to the Rurikids by marriage (1066)
- expanded the initial Byzantine presence in Sicily as they actually held more territory at the time; Calabria now exists as a theme (867)
- Egypt (Tulunids) and Hamadan/Kermanshah (Dulafids) now begin as Abbasid vassals in 867 but are fighting an independence faction war against the Caliph
- added a couple of additional Slovien vassals in Great Moravia (867)
- promoted the Cheremesids of Yoshkar-Ola to duke-tier (Nizhny Novgorod) and gave a few provinces to the duke's younger brother (867)
- promoted the Banu Kilab of Homs to duke-tier (Homs) and gave them a marriage alliance with the Neboulos dynasty (867)
- added the Bilyarids as vassals of Volga Bulgaria and connected them to various Bolghar clans by marriage (867)
- added the Slavic Muslim Neboulos dynasty as Abbasid vassals in Dausar (867)
- moved the Marwanids from Edessa to Diyarbakr; Edessa now exists as a theme and has been moved to de jure Anatolia (1066)

- changed Bulgarian culture's Konni Raids tradition to Bulgar Legacy; changed ethos type from Bureaucratic to Stoic
- changed Croatian culture's ethos type from Communal to Ceremonious
- changed Serbian culture's ethos type from Communal to Spiritual

- reduced the mercenary hire cost bonus of the Malleable Subjects cultural tradition from -50% to -30%

- added a load of new custom title localization for the Byzantine Empire (mostly Greek and Turkish, some Bulgarian and Arberian, a bit of Vlach and Armenian)

- added blood eagle as a new way to kill the Pope for Norse pagans dismantling the Papacy
- corrected the capitals of all Byzantine themes
- replaced a number of incorrect or duplicate Byzantine barony names with better local alternatives
- tweaked some dates and title history for the Salians
- removed Whitby as a barony in 870 (destroyed by vikings, rebuilt much later)
- removed all Ottoman beyliks (except for Rum) from the de jure Byzantine Empire
- removed all post-1066 title history
- renamed a few dynasties
- renamed Cataphracts to Kataphraktoi for consistency with other Greek MaA types
- merged several duplicate dynasties
- fixed a typo in Jainism's description
- fixed the Mahabodhi Temple only being enabled by Buddhists; it is now available to all Eastern faiths
- fixed a few rogue examples of incorrect government types, such as in Romania and Somalia
- fixed a few family trees with floating members
