- the Inspire Opus Francigenum decision now correctly requires the Frankish rather than Latin culture group
- the Embrace English Culture decision can no longer be taken before 1100

- split the county of Perche off from the county of Chartres
- split the county of Chiny off from the counties of Luxemburg and Bouillon
- split the county of Gaeta off from the counties of Capua and Tivoli

- removed Scotland's nonsense Pictish-era title history
- removed the Norman/Norwegian invasions and starting levies
- added some traits to the duke of Anjou (867)
- added some traits to the king of Brittany (867)
- added some traits to the king of Great Moravia and his heir (867)
- added some negative health traits to the queen of Scotland (1066)
- added pockets of Mu'tazilism around Tunis, Fustat, Aleppo, Damascus, Basra and Baghdad in 867
- made the Aghlabids Mu'tazili instead of Ash'ari
- made the Zhang and Cao dynasties Mahayana Buddhist
- made various existing unlanded characters playable where they ought to be
- made all Turkish culture characters Maturidi instead of Ash'ari (this is a gross generalization but broadly accurate)
- moved the duchy of Bar from France to Lotharingia
- moved the kingdom of Croatia from Byzantium to Carpathia in 1066
- moved the kingdom of Sicily from Byzantium to Italia in 1066
- moved the kingdom of Venice from Byzantium to Italia in 1066
- gave Byzantium standard feudal elective succession rather than primogeniture
- improved the East Francian setup in 867; Louis' sons now have larger domains and Saxony is held by Bruno instead of Otto
- various historical corrections in the British Isles, France, Aquitaine and the HRE
- improved the spread of Dutch and Frisian culture in the Low Countries (867 & 1066)
- removed various starting claims to help improve overall balance (e.g. Svend's claim on Norway)


* this is so Estonian culture has access to longships; they raided just as the Scandinavians did
** this problem is harder to fix than in CK II because of changes to the way the engine handles bastards & cadet branches
