Experimental Psionics: Empowered Gem List
The 42 following Active Abilities are available on the new GEM weapon upgrades (assuming you have the relevant mods installed):

Vanilla - Purple GEMs
  • Soul Fire - Does guaranteed psionic damage to an organic enemy. Ignores cover and armor.
  • Soul Steal - Returns half of the damage dealt by Soul Fire as health. Cannot exceed starting health
  • Stasis - Completely stuns the target for 1 turn, but renders them immune to any damage or attack.
  • Stasis Shield - Stasis can be cast on allies, rendering them immune to any attacks, and stunned, for 1 turn.
    Unconscious allies cannot be targeted by Stasis Shield.
  • Insanity - Debilitating telepathic attack that can inflict different negative conditions, including mental control of the target.
  • Schism - Insanity now does a small amount of guaranteed damage, and applies Rupture to the target.
  • Inspire - Immediately grant a bonus action to an ally within sight range. 3-turn cooldown. Does not require LOS.
  • Null Lance - Project a beam of psionic energy that damages every target it passes through.
  • Domination - Permanently mind control an enemy. Only one successful Domination can be performed per mission.
  • Void Rift - Generate an explosive field of Psionic energy that damages everything within. Organic enemies have a chance to suffer Insanity.

Iridar's More Psi Abilities - Red GEMs
  • Phase Walk - Teleport, similar to Avatar's teleport.
  • Psi Reanimation - Raise a nearby humanoid corpse as a zombie. You can have several zombies at the same time.
  • Null Ward - Cover yourself and nearby allies with psionic shields, similar to ADVENT Shieldbearer's Energy Shield ability.
  • Soul Merge - A mix between Inspire and Holy Warrior, give an action to an ally and boost their offensive stats.
  • Soul Storm - A close range ability with large area of effect that deals damage to enemies and destroys their cover.

bstar's Perk Pack - Green GEMs
  • Psionic Conduit - Activate to make the next Psionic ability a free action. Each time Psionic Conduit is activated, the soldier's Will is reduced by 10. When the soldier's Will falls below 50%, Psionic abilities deal 50% reduced damage and Psi Offense is reduced by 33%.
  • Mind Burst - Overloads a mind-controlled target's brain with Psionic energy until it bursts in a violent explosion. Deals Psionic damage equal to 15% of the primary target's Will stat to all targets within 4 tiles.

Mitzruti's Perk Pack - Blue GEMs
  • Betrayal - Mind control that allows the victim to act immediatly, but ends at end of turn.
  • Disable - AOE disarm and chance to stun. stealthy.
  • Kinetic Push - Push foe a short distance. stealthy. free action.
  • Malaise - Poison and disorient a large area. stealthy
  • Mind Control - temporary mind control; similiar to what commandatar uses in leviathan.
  • Mind Soothe - remove mental effects from a distant squadmate. stealthy.
  • Panacea - heals pretty much everything. stealthy.
  • PsiPanic - causes the victim to panic. can trigger schism. stealthy.
  • Kinetic Lance - damage and knockback targets in a line.
  • PsiBlind - blind+disorient single enemy.
  • AmorFati - reduce all damage an ally takes, but make them easier to hit.
  • Aurora Wave - Mass MindSoothe
  • PsiHeal - psionically delivered heal.
  • Ray of Life - heal all targets in a line
  • Rayzeel Song - heal squad when you use a psi healing ability
  • Restore Life - revive and heal a bleeding out ally
  • Pillar - create full cover. useable by regular soldiers.
  • Fireball - explosive fire aoe spell
  • Machina Puppeteer - temporary mind control a robot

Mitzruti's DLC perks - Blue GEMs
  • All Creation - psi attack against all visible enemies, bonus effect based on biome.
  • Nature's Embrace - psi attack with bonus effects based on biome

ABB Perk Pack - Yellow GEMs
  • Battlespace - Increases your vision radius by 3 tiles. Once per mission, you can increase this bonus to 12 tiles for a turn.

Favid's Extended Perk Pack - Orange GEMs
  • Blend - Immediately grants concealment that is automatically broken after 2 turns.
  • Mind Blast - Deal a small amount of damage and stun the target for one action.
  • Over Exertion - Immediately gain a bonus standard action point. Can only be used once per turn. Has limited uses per mission.

OK, you have me intrigued, so, how do we find these GEMS, and where is this Crystallised meld it talks about, so far, after 3 missions, I haven't found any.

You can find GEMs, PCSs and MELD as timed loot drops from enemies.

Once you have researched Psionics and built the new facility you can do three new techs.
One tech will convert lost corpses to MELD, after the lost autopsy.
Two more techs will create the GEMs or PCS.

Hi, great mod, it's been a lot of fun. Thanks for all your hard work.

I am having some issues with a couple of GEM's. Both Soul Steal and Insanity, when they are slotted into a Psi Amp, fail to have an icon show up to actually activate them in combat.

I have not had this issue with Soul Fire, Void Rift, Domination, Soul Storm or Psi Reanimation. They all work fine.

I was also wondering, I notice that when I train a soldier, they gain Psionic Ability rank 1, but I have not yet found any way to train that further. When selecting a trainee, I only have the option to select soldiers that have not yet been trained. I am currently about 2/3 of the way through the game, so I may have just not hit the unlocks for further training, but just wondered if there was more to come.

Soul Steal is a meta GEM, it's a passive that affects Soul Fire - you have to have both slotted in the same amp. Not sure what could be causeing the issue with Insanity though

@MrCloista I realize my issue now, the GEM was not Insanity but Schism, which means I need to get an Insanity gem and slot them both for it to work. Thanks for the clarification.

Yup. We decided to keep the meta perks as GEMS instead of PCSs as it'd really suck to get a PCS with a nice PsiOffense roll and a meta perk for a GEM you don't have.
