You're issue is using LWotC, which overrides the number of slots the Amps have in its config files. To fix this you'll need to set those values to something other than 0

Yep, it's in XComPsionicsExMachina_Abilities.ini, under the header "[PsionicsExMachina.X2EventListener_PexMWillEvents]". The option is "ClassesToSkipPsionicWillDrain", so for example, it has:
+ClassesToSkipPsionicWillDrain=Templar

Sorry maybe im dumb but what do i need for magnetic tier psi amps? I researched advanced psionics and its not showing up. ive done the priest and sectoid autopsies. Does it come with advanced mag weapons?

You need to access them via squad select, or via the upgrade screen if you use mod everything reloaded

I have all the mods as well as the dependencies but I don't know how to access the slots on the psi amp. I already unchecked the option on robojumps squad select.

@jbestmitchell as Rusty said, the gift and psi skill trees aren't from this mod. Both psi overhaul v3 and Foxcom psionics use the mechanics you describe so it would be one of those. PexM has all psi abilities drop as upgrades you slot into a psiamp (GEMS) or as PCS.

"the gift" is not from this mod, but something normally from PsiOverhaulv3 ?I think?.. which iirc requires you to put the soldier back into the lab slot (staff slot 6 of this mod, when using both ?) to train the next PsiRank ...

How are the psion abilities earned? I see the ability tree with ones ranked with "the Gift" but the psion abilities never upgrade with experience
Found what was causing the error after Psi-Grading - I uninstalled the other mod, but was still getting the error icon and message. Her combat intelligence was set to 5 and that was triggering an error. It works fine when combat int is set below 5.
Hello. I seem to be getting an error and possibly a conflict. I see this mod "gets rid of" the need for the psi lab, etc - but I am running modjam, and it seems to have the psi lab. I slapped a soldier in, and when finished, I got an unknown error, the missing icon image for the soldier. Is this incompatible with Iridans Psi Overhaul? I'm just guessing, here - I grabbed a few things that mod jam mentioned, and etc.

with the soldier selected in the armoury use the following console command;

RustyFix_Toolbox_PexM_AdjustPsiGradingForThisSoldier true

this will force/refresh the soldiers grading

Hey @RustyDios, first off thanks for the mod its good fun. I have a small problem in that I changed the ComInt of one of the squad to a level out of bounds before then putting said follower through PSI grading (this gave me an error that I should not have seen). I subsequently reset the comint to a normal level but this has not fixed the grading and the character does not appear on the available grading list. Is there a way to reset this somehow?

huh, I guess RPGO is a beast of it's own making.
otherwise Grading should unlock those weapons and amps.

The two weapons are from Aslyenne's Advent Warlock and TeamCX Armoured (Psi) Vipers btw. Both are strong alternative main hand weapons.

hey @RustyDios, I dont think so, i mentioned my issue few messages under - I'm using RPGO weapon restrictions and it seems to me like they don't work with ex machine at all. Neither psi amps nor those weapons are available to graded soldiers, unless I specifically add it to that rpgo ini file responsible for per-class weapon restrictions.

You can get the soldiers to use these weapons by Psi Grading them btw :)

To answer my own question: First of all those psi weapons seem to be from another mod (advent warlock?) - but scavenging this mod's inis did help to find relevant ids: psionicReaper, psigatlingrifle
Reaper is the main rifle, gatling - not sure - haven't researched that yet.

@tntcraze that's an au vipers issue not a pexm one (we don't control animations anyway that's on the perks themselves so depends on what perk packs you're using )

Solved it: to add psiamps to specific RPGO classes - find "C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1280477867\Config\XComRPG.ini" and for every class (or the ones you are interested in) alter SpecializationMetaInfo to include psiamp.

Example:
SpecializationMetaInfo = (bUseForRandomClasses=true, AllowedWeaponCategories=(sword, combatknife, psiamp), InventorySlots=(eInvSlot_PrimaryWeapon, eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon), bMelee=true, iWeightPrimary=1)

Note: some classes only specify a weapon for a primary slot in this meta info, if you want to also add psiamp to those - add a "eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon" into InventorySlots as shown above.

It will disallow psiamps unless you have a secondary (psionic) spec allowing it. SpecializationMetaInfo for each spec specifies what that spec is allowed to equip if that SWO is enabled.

The short answer is just don't use that SWO. The long answer is that if you still want to use that option you would have to add psiamps to every single secondary spec.

It's been many many years since I did an RPGO-run and I've honestly forgotten what that setting *does*.

Basic Psi Amps normally become available after the main Psionics research.

Hi, i just realised after playing like a 30 hours of a huge modlist with RPGO and Psionics Ex Machina - that I should've had basic psi amps available all along... Im using weapon restrictions for RPGO and it seems that makes it so that none of the soldiers can equip the psi amps. Any way to fix that? Thanks!

Will costs already do not affect Templars or Psi-Ops.

There is a list of exempt classes in the configs (and also in the archives pages for Psionics Will-as-mana ... and in the menu screen pop-up when you first install the mod ... )

I don't mean to sound all high & mighty, but if you need to ask what the command is, then I'm not sure you understand the implications of instant-build-room-spawning compared to normal construction with the correct events firing off ...

I highly advise against taking this route with the new psi facility.

Some things might not work correctly and I don't want to 'bugfix' reports with console commanded shortcuts being used ....

However, with the above 'user caution' warning issued;

Robojumper's Squad Select - Provides access to the PsiAmp's upgrade slots.
Requires 'Upgrade Icons Only for Primaries' to be unchecked in MCM.

Hey I;m at the point where I made the new psionics room. I still don't know how to add gems to the psionic amplifier. I have just the base amplifier and I'm not seeing an option to edit it.
