Europa Universalis IV

Europa Universalis IV

Extended Timeline
Will Rome do anything?
Currently playing as some nordic/germanic country starting in year 30 and currently in year 150. Rome still seems the same, not yet expanded into England which it should have long ago. But my question is if it'll somewhat follow historical trajectory? Will it be forced to split into East and West roman Empire? Similar events which happens to ottoman

It likely will but sometimes does not
It eventually does split apart, but it's random on how much time that takes. This is a problem for many nations in EU4, sometimes the AI is too dumb or passive, and doesn't do much. Bassically, there are scripted events that cause great turmoil in the empire, eventually ripping it into smaller nations. While a player can avoid it, I've never seen the AI manage to keep the empire together forever.

Thanks, actually noticed that part, and I was also struck with that at the same time and broke into a tiny empire. Next time I'll do better lol
