Some questions regarding Rome
Hello all, first I just wanna say that I love this mod and all the flavor contained within in it. However Ive encoutered something a bit frustrating. Mostly its that Ive been playing as Rome and at my point in the game around 350 AD the only other nations left in Europe other than me are Francia, the Saxons and the Vandals. About every 15 years I have to fight them and I am completely unable to do so. We have the same military tech level and I even have 5 military ideas to their 0 but my armies get smashed every single time. It doesnt matter whether I have more troops or whether I'm attacking or defending. I think it is due to the Huge Empire modifier that cuts my troops morale by 40%. Is there anyway to remove this either ingame or out? Its so hindering at this point that its almost ridiculous. I am Rome! I should not fear petty barbarians! Or have to constantly concede my territories and vassals. One other thing I noticed is that unlike the Vanilla game I can no longer bribe a nation to end a war, even if I offer them max money and that has been true regardless of the war unless Im already winning by a significant margin which makes it useless anyway.Id really appreciate some help because I just cannot seem to do anything at this point in the game. Any progress I make anywhere on the map must be conceded to these Germans so they dont destroy me.

On a side note, what is the purpose of ever Dividing Rome or Ending Pax Romana? They both seem like really bad ideas.

The huge empire modifier goes away with technology, or if you lose enough provinces. Keeping Rome intact is supposed to be a challenge and without negative modifiers it would be ridiculously easy.

There are progressively worse modifiers like Empire Declining and Empire Fragmenting that are quite hard to get rid of. By dividing the empire you can get rid of these modifiers and save yourself. If you don't have these modifiers, there's indeed no sense in splitting Rome.

Pax Romana is a mixed modifier that has quite a lot of negative effects. There isn't really any other way to get rid of it and even though ending Pax Romana gives you an even worse modifier, that modifier can be gotten rid of by restabilizing the empire. However, Pax Romana is not really meant to be ended by decision, as I too think that the maluses outweigh the bonuses, but I though it would be nice to have the possibility.

From my view the main reason to split the Empire is to form Catholicism.
