Ideas and suggestions
Please post ideas that you may have for this mod here.

Planned Features:
-Being able to shoot between layers
-Being able to see multiple layers at once.
-Allow transfer of heat and cooling between floors.
-Pit fall traps.
-Adjust damage when a pawn falls through a layer
-Ladder replacements such as Elevators, stairs, rope, and so on (all of which change time it takes)
-Power to and from different floors
-Added functionality with other mods (still working on fixing our own bugs before we add support for other mods)

1. An Elevator that can jump you to any floor within the elevator shaft. Would require power.

2. Natural Cave openings that spawn on the map. Perhaps vines or something to climb down.

3. Spiral Staircases that give a beauty buff.

4. Rope Ladders that use Textiles as material.

5. More types of stairs, ladders, etc.

6. Electricity transfer between levels.

7. Compatibility with the "Biomes!: Caves" Mod when it comes out so it can have a unique cave biome underground.

8. Compatibility with Save Our Ship 2.

9. Compatibility with Plumbing from Dub's Hygiene Mod transfer between levels.

10. Compatibility with Pipes from the Rimefeller Mod transfer between levels.

1. It is being worked on.
2. Natural caves will be used in the Biomes! mod as it is a better fit there (code is open source)
3. I like the idea of spiral staircases and stairs in general (require rock, hard to break) but I need someone to make the textures.
4. I like it. I can make it where those take longer to use.
5. Once again, waiting on textures, but I like the idea.
6. Working on it.
7. I am in contact with those people and they are still designing the stuff.
8. I talked to them, (check their comments section) one of the modders just brushed me off when I brought it up.
9. I think it would be better for the modders of that to make a patch for this mod especially after we get the power transfer to work (I imagine it would be similar).
10 I think it would be better to have the modders of that to work on a patch.

I greatly appreciate the feedback, especially how well organized it was. This mod is working on getting it's own issues fixed before we add more support for other mods. However, it would be great if the modders from the other mods could create the support for this mod, I would hit them up.

Thanks for the quick reply. I had some more I thought of after I posted.

11. Compatibility Industrial Rollers mod transfer between levels.

12. Compatibility Mine Carts mod (when it updates) transfer between levels.

13. Local Teleporters for high tech level travel.

14. Freight Elevators for transferring large amounts of items between levels. Similar to Deep Rim.

15. Natural Cave roofs generating a stone floor when you go up.

16. Waterfalls.

11. Once again, need to get those modders on board.
12. Same issue, we are working on some framework stuff like the power or elevator.
13. Will release standalone mod for teleporters to other settlements (or same settlement I guess)
14. Hmm I will have to look into that. But I am not sure exactly how they did it, will look into it.
15. Can you elaborate on that?
16. I have no idea how that would work, it would probably have to be part of the biomes! mod.

A rather minor but very important suggestion would be..

-Being on an upper floor allows you to shoot down with increased accuracy.

-Being below the floor you are firing at gives you an accuracy penalty.

Dont know how possible this is because it seems combat between floors is not a thing at the moment, but it would be neat if we could.

We are currently discussing the ideas on how to balance each perspective to make it fair, it will take a while until the different layer shooting works tho.

When I go up only man-made roofs seem to create a floor. However any natural roofs that are generated when the map is created don't seem to create a roof. For instance in the base game they can create caves. The caves have a roof over them. But no roof shows up when you go UP a level.

If I click on a colonist on another floor, it won't force me to look at them unless I double click. I want to be able to select them and then set them to a task on another floor.

Probably far on the horizon, but an idea to make the upper floors look better would be to have the mod snap a render of the ground layer. Then instead of using the brown texture you have now, use the render (it could be low res to save on lag). If you want to go further you could put a fog layer above the ground render to differentiate what's built below the current floor.

The rendering would probably make the game lag (like it does with progress renderer) so you could maybe have a button for it instead, rather than a timer. Since people aren't generally building constantly there's no need to keep the ground render so up to date.

Just my 2 cents, will definitely be following this great mod!

@l i m b o We are already looking into that idea. I think it would be cool to update the ground renderer only after a while or after something gets built and it shows live footage of pawns so you can eventually shoot at them.
