Feedbacks & Suggestions
I gather it would be a better idea to have a separate thread for such things as they are not bugs per se...

So, trying out the new version with France. The run isn't finished yet, I have yet to see the new war weariness & treaties in action.

Regarding AI & balance : what a tricky, painfull business...
For now, it is almost impossible to succeed in emulating the 1914 offensive successes. Germany gets blocked by Belgians in the Ardennes, Russia fails in Galicia, CSA can't advance in Maryland. It's Great War mod related, though, as it has long been the case in the base mod. It's also a common problem with WW1 gaming : either it is too easy to advance and there are no position warfare to speak of, or the war is Verdun right at the beginning. I am not savy enough regarding HoI4 modding to suggest what could be done.

Back in the HoI 1 days, the Great War mod had some forts popping in the fall of 1914 (which was wonky) and increased by event the troops defensiveness (which worked better) but it never quite achieved a good result.

As for the mod's current balance : now the US focuses quite heavily towards CSA and when war breaks out, it's the canadian border that's empty. Well, balancing is a pain... It does not help Canada much actually, the heartland is still overrun by late 1914 when the AI reacts to the Northern threat.

Idea : To help Canada holds longer to its eastern provinces, at least a couple of year, perhaps some fortificatons along the natural defenses? Like on the Niagara peninsula and on the St Laurent river? IIRC, they held there for quite a long time in canon, crumbling only in 1917.

Update :
The war weariness thing seems to be working quite well. It does not affect countries such as Italy or Bulgaria, though.

- Canada were the first to kick the dust, as usual. IMHO they really need some help (fortifications, more divs, I don't know...).
- Ottomon followed in late 1916/early 1917.
1917 was the year of surrender :
- CSA crumbled. Their performance was sub par: they couldn't launch offensives against the weight the USA pulled against them and were slowly grinded. By late 1916/1917, the lines were crumbling.
I'd love to see something as the book's Maryland campaign though...
- Austria/Hungary followed in 1917, with Bulgaria.
- Strangely, UK surrendered too. Is this because the CSA left? If it is the case, the event should check if France & Russia are still in the game.

So now, 1918, France and Russia still in fight against Germany (and the US). Bogged down in the Ardennes and Vosges or the Vistula.
