Illumination flares
These are controlled by the COUNTERMEASURES (flares) command. By default, "C". Use "CTRL+C" (default) to switch your countermeasures to "Illum Flares" and have at it. In-game, it seems ideal to drop them from about 300-400m altitude. To avoid "flare spam" there is a 30 second reload for the illumination flares.
