As far as I can see, there are 3 reasons they wanted them removed and I respect each.
1) They didn't want anything depicting sexuality (no matter how tasteful) on one of their items.
2) They thought it made the item too busy so clashed with their artstyle.
3) They have no way of truly knowing that I made the pictures from scratch. Say if they placed an item in the game and then found out the creator stole an image and placed it on their item (I didn't just saying), The original creator of that image could sue them for using their artwork without consent.
So don't get mad at Valve for wishing to avoid any conflict. Yes, I agree with you that the pinups were a big part of the jacket and I spent a lot of time making them, but it's cool that this item is probably going to make it in teh game!
I proposed to Valve that I would release a mod, if this Item got into the game, that would add the pinups back in.
I think this is for the best as Valve is covered and the people who liked the pinups will get to have them.
So cheer up, and most of all, dont blame Valve...
