Glitched Proposals
So, in my game, whenever Lover A proposes to Lover B, and Lover B refuses, Lover B gets hit with a 89 mood malus.

-14 for "Rejected A's proposal"
-25 for "Cheated on by A"
-50 for "My proposal was rejected by A"

Meanwhile Lover A gets:

-25 for "My proposal was rejected by B", which lasts twice as long.

It makes sense for A to get -25 for being rejected, it makes sense for B to get -14 for having to reject, and it makes sense for A's malus to last longer than B's malus.

But in this case, A didn't cheat on B, and the massive -50 that B gets for being rejected makes no sense at all.



Anyway, I know it's hard to diagnose why an issue like this is occurring. I'm hoping someone might recognize the issue, but if not, could direct me to a file where maybe this sort of thing can be edited or turned off or something. Thanks.

Just want to add that I'm experiencing this too. I'm not using any mods that would conflict with psychology(that I know of, at least).

Wanted to ask - any progress on this issue? Because I'm having the same exact problem, and it happens with every single case of proposal. Every SINGLE proposal ends up with a rejection - the proposing pawn will then be hit with the regular rejection penalty, but the person rejecting will accure additional -75 penalty ("my proposal was rejected", "being cheated on") both of which are false / make no sense.
I don't have any mods that modify romance systems, AFAK.
It's basically killing every one of my playthroughs. Sooner or later proposals will start to happen and that will result in spiral of catatonic pawns because they have suddenly nonsensical -100 mood modifiers lasting months.

The breakdown of marriage proposals definitely makes using this mod a relative dead-end for any of my games. Tried it out with one of my saves and ended up replicating this exact issue, with the series of rejected my proposal and cheated on me moods afflicting the rejecting pawn.

Casually reading through some of the source code, seems like this may be related to something in the RomanceHelperMethods from BreakUpHelperMethods.cs. Possibly that TryGainOpinionAndAdjustMood (ln 240) and how it's traversing the PsychologyMethodNameDict dictionary list when adjusting the moods, during the foreach loop (ln 245) it's overly matching with multiple keys. Rather than simply finding the IRejectedTheirProposal, it also matches up with the CheatedOnMe and RejectedMyProposal as well.

Still having this issue. Will probably have to disable the mod until it's fixed, because it renders everyone unstable and useless.

Also having this problem. Has pretty much ended my playthrough :( currently have 3 pairs of pawns with these debuffs

Can confirm this is very much still an issue. One proposal can pretty much destroy the mental state of a pawn regardless of how many mood buffs they have.

This issue has been unresolved since December. This mod seems pretty dead and I will be uninstalling it once my current run is over due to the numerous issues and bugs. Very dissapointing this mod was one of my favourites for years.

The issue is fixed in my version. I'll push the update when I test it out (can't give ETA on that but hopefully in a week).
Sorry for the huge delay, there are some issues with the source code that really made fixing things much harder than it's usually is.

I'n getting a -49 from my proposal was rejected instead of the standard -18. At 25 days long it seems a bit harsh. Is there any way to change this?
