Delta Squad in 1.5
Was Delta Squad nerfed or were Separatist ground units buffed?

I have been trying the same stealth ground attacks I did in 1.4, yet Delta Squad seems way more squishy, while at the same time dealing less damage. Using them seems hardly worth it to me now.

There were some general background changes that would be affecting this. Land heroes had some back end separation, splitting them into infantry heroes and vehicle heroes.

This in addition to targeting priority changes which are supposed to help units auto target things they're actually effective against. What's likely happening is anti-infantry units are more consistently attacking them which leads to them taking more damage than they used to.

Not sure what's up with damage but I suppose that depends on what you're expecting from them. When I've used them they still remain good against infantry and the detonator abilities help against turrets and buildings. Wouldn't throw them up against vehicles but they could be much worse there.

Beyond that though... I don't think CIS units have been buffed or debuffed in any substantial way? At least there's nothing in the change logs nor does it feel like they have at least in my own Republic campaign.

Well okay. Usually I would use them with Omega Squad to solo capture planets and they usually held their own, even against vehicles, now group upped STAPs or a group of AATs wipes them out.

Yeah that's probably the back end changes hammering your tactics here. To quote the changelog:
○ Under the hood Category Mask changes and general cleanup:
--> Added InfantryHero & VehicleHero (Replaces LandHero)
---> Inaccuracy inherits Infantry and Vehicle respectively
○ Under the hood targeting priority changes:
--> Ground and Space units will better shoot at what they're "good" against
STAPs are marked as "AntiInfantry". Delta and Omega previously being set as "LandHero" in 1.4 instead of "Infantry" means STAPS would've had a harder time hitting them than they otherwise would because that's how the game handles accuracy.

Now that they're marked as "InfantryHero" STAPs would get their usual accuracy bonuses against infantry when fighting them. The same would also apply to AATs.

So they kind of got nerfed, thanks.

I have always used them as first drop for land invasions to hold and expand the initial landing zone and build pads. While my invasion army drops from orbit. Never really consider them raiders as I rather use all the stealth jedi in a stack to raid until I terminate them in order 66. But by then, I have a fleet to work with and using jedi gets boring by then.

They got slightly buffed individually since each of their shields got increased to 50 the other hero clone commandos have instead of the in-between value it was before. Against massive vehicle or anti-infantry swarms they'll still not fare well as mentioned above with the more consistent accuracy changes.
